We stayed at this hotel for 13 nights. They have recently been taken over by Hilton Vacation Club so are busy rebranding and changing all the current operations. We stayed at this hotel for 13 nights. They have recently been taken over by Hilton Vacation Club so are busy rebranding and changing all the current operations. I think they need a good 6 months to get up to the Hilton standards but these things take time. Good location surrounded by restaurants, close to Disney. However the side streets leading to the hotel entrance are difficult to navigate with no traffic lights. Security is good. Housekeeping needs some attention. They don't mop the floor. The refurbished units are nice but have laminate flooring. Sweeping the floors is not enough, you also need to mop. The housekeepers did not appear to have a wet mop and it's needed for these floors otherwise dirt sticks to your feet which doesn't feel good! We were there 13 nights. You can request as much as little housekeeping you want. I liked this option. You can opt for a deep clean or basic clean. For the basic clean its literally they leave you towels and make your bed. We alternated between the 2. We has one occasion where we had scheduled a deep clean and after chasing 3 times they finally showed at 6pm. If we hadn't of chased, it wouldn't have happened. The units are well equipped and comfortable with good kitchen facilities . Dont use the complimentary washing powder as it bleaches clothes. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are not. Dish washer, fridge and freezer and oven were great. The shower room was huge so you expect a power shower, however you have to run around in the stream to get wet which was a bit frustrating. There is a little patio/balcony but no bug net or outside fan so it gets very hot. We had a nice outlook of a forest area which was peaceful. The facilities are equate. We spent a lot of time at the waterpark which our kiddo loved. There is life guards which I guess is a new improvement since becoming Hilton Vacation club. You feel safe for the kids to go off and play with the guards on duty however you do notice some parents failing to parent and allowing their 2 year olds to walk down slides with no supervision. Not the fault of the hotel of course. The guards do their best and keep an eye on the kids and will blow the whistle if kids aren't being safe. You are not allowed any inflatables of any kid which is fair enough when it is busy. The waterpark doesn't open until 10am and closes at 8.15pm and get their early for a sun bed in the shade. They have cabanas but they are expensive at minimum $150 per day for simply shade and TV. They need to implement dynamic pricing for these to maximum revenue as many days no one used them. You get the towels from a machine which is handy and stick them in the bin for cleaning once used (none of these leaving towels in your unit and washing them yourself!). They will shut the pool and bar restaurant during any lightening. This means that you can not eat on property anywhere as there is only 1 restaurant on property. You can play basketball, table tennis, goofy golf, playground included in the resort fee. There is a charge to use the Surrey bikes and pedal boats on the lake ($10 for 30 mins). It's a very active resort which was nice to see people using the facilities. The arcade is fun with a little bar however the games are extremely and noticeably short meaning your money gets you very little. There is a little shop onsite but I would like to see in future a coffee shop/bakery or another restaurant. Holiday Inn Orange lake have more facilities onsite however it was an extra $1.5k which we couldn't justify. Resort fee does NOT include car parking of $7 per day which we didnt realise at time of booking so bear this in mind We would definitely stay at this hotel again if the price was right.
