Waldorf Astoria Orlando is an Official Walt Disney World® Hotel, offering contemporary luxury within a peaceful 482-acre nature preserve, surrounded on three sides by Walt Disney World® Resort. This family-friendly resort is approximately 111 km from the beach. Guests benefit from complimentary shuttle service to all four Disney Theme Parks and Disney Springs, along with 30-minute early entry to Disney parks. The resort features 502 guestrooms, each approximately 42 m², equipped with flat-screen TVs (some with MP3 docking stations), cable television, pillowtop beds with Frette Italian sheets, mini-bars, and electronic safes. Private bathrooms include marble soaking tubs, separate showers, designer toiletries (including luxury Aesop), and hair dryers. Rooms also offer free internet access, centrally controlled air conditioning and heating, and complimentary towel changes. Dining options include 11 on-site restaurants, such as the famed Bull & Bear steakhouse, and at least 4 bars/lounges, including an elegant lobby bar and a poolside bar. “Not up to Waldorf standard”

Not a great first impression. Hilton Diamond AND booked through AMEX FHR. Booked Deluxe Disney-View Suite and on arrival Hilton booking portal showed multiple upgrade options, to include Family Luxury Suite, Waldorf Disney View Suite, and many others. Was told at the Front Desk that the *only* upgrades available were to the Chairman or Presidential Suites beginning at $2000/night upgrade fee. Hotel not anywhere close to capacity, and clearly being disingenuous about their room availability. Extremely disappointing, especially from a WA. Got up to the room, changed into swim clothes, and got into the elevator to head down to the pool. On our way down, the elevator lost power and went pitch black. Once power was restored, we attempted to use the emergency phone in the elevator over a dozen times but nobody picked up. The elevator moved up and down several times over the next few minutes - probably less than a foot, but extremely disconcerting. After several minutes, the elevator resumed operation and deposited us on the lobby level - this is the first and only time any of us have ever been trapped in an elevator, and needless to say our children were distressed. A hotel representative who was standing outside the elevator door when it opened took our name and room number and said she’d check in with us - so far, nothing of the kind has happened. After walking down from the lobby level to the ground floor following our elevator experience, we spent a few enjoyable hours by the pool, returning to our room around 7:45pm. We were surprised to find that turndown service had not been conducted, and the sofabed in the living room had not been made up for the kids. I messaged via the app (which I was told was a primary method of requesting services) at 8pm. At 8:35pm, having received no response, I called the front desk and the representative I spoke with indicated that turndown service should already have been completed but that she would contact housekeeping. Finally, at around 9pm, housekeeping arrived. They replaced towels and dropped off waters, and would have left again without setting up the sofabed had we not stopped them. Absolutely not up to WA standard. All the staff with whom we’ve interacted have been extremely friendly and our in-room dining dinner was very good - but it’s been a rough first impression for the hotel overall.
