“Awesome stay”

Just returned from a vacation at Perdido Sun. This place was perfect for us. It is small, which we liked and very quiet. We stayed in unit 410. This unit was very clean! Just returned from a vacation at Perdido Sun. This place was perfect for us. It is small, which we liked and very quiet. We stayed in unit 410. This unit was very clean! The pool, grounds, elevators and all walkways were very clean-no trash/litter to be found. The only thing we needed was more washcloths and when we asked the desk clerk she said that we would need to go buy some lol what?!? We didn’t do much cooking in the unit-I brought my griddle for cooking breakfast and we ate across the street (walked) at The Jellyfish and other local restaurants. I would definitely return to this condo😀

“Great for small family”

We were looking for a condo complex that was small and also away from all the busyness of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, this was perfect for us. We were looking for a condo complex that was small and also away from all the busyness of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, this was perfect for us. We rented from an individual that also has one other condo in the same complex. The unit we stayed in was recently updated and had everything we needed. The unit was smaller than what we were used to but was perfect for our family of 3. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. My son slept in the bunk beds in the hallway. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. The pool was a decent size and was rarely crowded. Beach access is very convenient, just steps from the pool. The location is good as well, as there are a couple of restaurants and dessert places right across the street and a couple of shops. We would stay here again.

I'm trying to split the experience into our unit and the complex. This review is on the Perdido Sun complex as a whole. There is not enough parking if you have more than 1 car. The additional car has to park across the street in a lot that is not very well marked at all. When you ask the front desk where to park, it's kind of an "over there, behind the building" type thing. The indoor pool was closed for repairs, which only allows for one entrance to the beach. It also makes getting to the outdoor pool very awkward as you have to go out to the beach first, then up the pool boardwalk. I've stayed in condos before and had issues with the elevators. I thought we were in for it again as one of the elevators was out of service - just so happens, it was the one closest to our unit. However, maybe that was a blessing keeping down some noise and we honestly had no issues waiting for an elevator at the main bank of 2 elevators. I was worried as one adult in our group was only a month removed from ACL surgery. Pool is on the smaller side, but maybe we felt that more since there was only 1 options with the indoor pool closed. Luckily the weather was great and we didn't mind not having the indoor option. No snacks or drinks on-site, which was ok. Sometimes having a place to grab a burger or cocktail on site is convenient, but you do sacrifice some quiet and smaller sized complex for those. There are some shops and restaurants across the street, but be careful crossing during the day. There isn't a light, but there is a lighted crosswalk. During the day the passing cars can't see the "runway" lights that light up when you hit the crossing button, so keep an eye on the kids (45 mph speed limit on Perdido Key Dr). Beach access is good. Just a walk down the boardwalk to get there. Some people complained about the rental loungers being too close to the water. Now, we had someone in our group who had recent knee surgery, so we rented some loungers for the week. My thought, is if you pay for the rentals, you should have beach access with no one in front of you. That being said, the rentals should NOT take up all of the front spots either. Not sure what is the best way to handle, but something to be aware of if you are concerned with having no one between you and the water - whether you rent chairs or bring your own. We would probably stay here again, but likely because of the complex size and our individual unit rather than thoughts on the complex as a whole. Not bad, but nothing memorable either.
