Club Wyndham National Harbor

“Excellent location”

The resort has many amenities and is beautiful rooms. It is located centrally to everything, from Washington DC, to Alexandria, to the Wharf. My only problem is the cost for parking of $25 per day and the housekeeping fee of $111 for less than 7 day stay. We stayed 5 days.

Everything about this property was great. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable 2 bedroom unit. The surrounding area was clean and safe. We would definitely go back.

We have been owners for 10+ years. This was a presidential reserve stay. We were extremely disappointed with management at this stay, but the resort itself was nice. We recently stayed at Club Wyndham National Harbor and found several things to enjoy about the property. The location is excellent, with many restaurants within easy walking distance and convenient access to Washington, D.C. CVS is located directly underneath the resort, which is extremely helpful for picking up snacks, toiletries, medications, or other last-minute needs. The rooms appear updated, and the resort offers several nice amenities. The pool and hot tub were well kept, and the children’s game rooms and Lego room were great additions for families. Rowena at the front desk was consistently professional, kind, and helpful during our interactions. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly affected by a major issue at check-in and the complete lack of follow-up from management. When we arrived, we discovered that both the refrigerator and freezer in our room were not working. We had brought groceries for the entire week because there are no nearby full-service grocery stores, and the unit is advertised as having a fully functioning kitchen as there is in all of our Club Wyndham resorts do. We immediately contacted the front desk and were told maintenance would come to the room. It took approximately 45 minutes for anyone to arrive. During that time, I repeatedly asked whether we could be moved to another room, store our food somewhere else, or be provided with a cooler or any other option to protect our frozen and refrigerated groceries, including ice cream, frozen meals, meat, milk and butter. We were offered no alternatives and were simply told to wait for maintenance. It took more than an hour and a half before the refrigerator finally began to cool. By that point, we had lost all of our cold and frozen groceries. The front desk asked us to provide pictures of the spoiled groceries and assured us that a manager would contact us and “make it right.” We requested either a grocery delivery to replace the lost items or reimbursement so we could purchase breakfast or lunch the following day. We had early reservations and did not have time to leave the area and go grocery shopping again. This occurred on Monday. No manager ever called. Each day, I stopped by the front desk and called multiple times throughout the week. Every time, I was told that no manager was available but that someone would contact me. We checked out today having received absolutely no communication from management and no resolution whatsoever. We were also concerned about the pool supervision. Although a lifeguard was present, the lifeguards frequently appeared distracted by their phones or spent extended periods talking with guests instead of actively watching the pool. Having a lifeguard present provides little reassurance if they are not consistently paying attention to the water. This resort has a great location, updated rooms, and excellent family amenities. However, equipment failures can happen, the larger issue was the lack of urgency, lack of reasonable options to protect our food, and management’s failure to communicate or follow through after repeatedly promising to do so. The situation could have been resolved with basic customer service, but instead, we left feeling ignored and disappointed. We will not be back.
