I knew we had selected the right place when I talked to Julie on the phone to give her a new credit card number as the one we used was hacked. By the end of the conversation, it was as if I had a new friend. That kind of welcoming continued with all the staff over our stay of 4 nights. She said she was selecting a great room and it was. Savannah charm with a comfortable four-poster, the carved posts from local pine I noticed. Large bath with double sinks and tub, looked newly updated. High quality toiletries provided. TV in an armoire and nice small fridge. And very clean! The whole Inn. We were delighted with the unexpected complimentary wine and cheese each night from 5-7, the warm (baked in their kitchen) chocolate chip cookies waiting when we returned at night and fresh coffee in the morning. All in the lovely lobby. Also a talented lady playing the piano during the wine and cheese—Johnny Mercer songs of course! The location could not have been better, especially being steps away from The Olde Pink House restaurant and its tavern. Thanks to all and wish we were there. See you next year.

I recently had the privilege of staying at the Planters Inn in Savannah. The location was ideal and within walking distance of many of the city's historic landmarks. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel was charming and the rooms were comfortable. I loved that the hotel offered coffee in the morning and wine and cheese in the afternoon - a wonderful added touch. I highly recommend the Planters Inn for your next trip to Savannah.

We chose one of the few rooms with a balcony. It overlooks the square, and we used it everyday of our visit. There were some issues with our room. First, there was only one chair. So, if you didn't get the chair, you had to climb into the very high bed which was not conducive to sitting or go outside on the balcony (one day it was just too windy to sit out there). There were plugs for your phone only on one side of the bed. They had a good sized closet in the room but no hangers. Where were the hangers? The bed was a four poster, but the post by the chair was wobbly and had obviously been repaired. You had to walk past it to reach the chair or the balcony. We were worried it was going to fall on one of us. The bathroom had a nightlight in the ceiling which we liked a lot. We parked our car with the valet, and the hotel charged you $36/day. You could go in and out as many times as you wanted which is a better deal than parking in one of the nearby garages on your own. The location was good, but I might find somewhere else to stay on our next visit.
