We absolutely loved our stay at the historic River Street Inn. Not only was the hotel absolutely beautiful, clean, and quiet, the staff was a pleasure to interact with. One staff member who really made our stay memorable was Lamont the valet. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly helpful with our luggage, getting everything to our room and making us feel welcome. As a local, he also shared great recommendations for places to eat and things to do around Savannah. Lamont was kind, patient, and always greeted us with a warm smile. He truly made our stay even more memorable!

First time in Savannah, and we wanted a hotel with some historic charm instead of a generic-looking chain. The River Street Inn is in a great location, right in the heart of downtown along the river. We were greeted by cheerful staff when we arrived and offered complimentary champagne, which was a nice touch. Our room was quaint and had the Old South feel we were looking for, with beautiful wood floors and furniture. We chose a river view room, which added to the experience. There are a few restaurants in the hotel. We had dinner at Broken Keel, which has both indoor and outdoor seating. I had the crab-stuffed grouper. It was pretty good, but a little overcooked. My husband had the fresh catch of the day, red snapper, and his was better than mine. They were also a little skimpy on the potatoes that came with the meal. We would stay here again because the location is excellent and it’s right in the heart of everything. That said, a few things kept me from giving it five stars. One was the front desk service later in our stay. We went to ask where a local restaurant was, and the hotel clerk seemed more interested in getting her coffee than helping us. We stood there waiting a few minutes before she rather grudgingly acknowledged us. The other issue was parking. There is no designated hotel parking, so we used valet, which is $50 per night. When we were leaving, we texted the number as instructed, but it still took about 20 minutes to get our car. Several other people were waiting too, some longer than us, so that process needs work. We’re used to valets being right outside the hotel and more readily available. Also keep in mind that in addition to the parking fee, there is a $33 per night resort fee. We didn’t realize that until checkout. Overall, we enjoyed the historic feel and loved the location, but the service and parking issues were enough to make it a four-star stay for us.

This hotel is old and musty, rooms are upgraded but dont look like the pictures on the website.....HOWEVER...we loved this place. The staff are very kind and accommodating. The room was very clean. Housekeeping came in daily and did a great job. Beds are super comfy. It's in the perfect location. We didn’t upgrade to a balcony, but had a river view (highly) recommend vs street view. You get to see the boats and sunset, even without the balcony. We stayed in room 403. People in other reviews complained about the noise, the only noise we heard were people slamming their doors when they went in and out...you cant blame the hotel for that. You get vouchers for the restaurants...the managers 4-5:30pm happy hour is wonderful...Bradley the host is so nice...we loved the rocking chairs...the free coffee in the morning was great...also I dont know how you do it...but your towels are the softest we've ever experienced..we are very thankful we chose this hotel and would recommend this to anyone wanting a true Savannah experience 😊 not disappointed
