The Westin Maui Resort and Spa is a very beautiful property, convenient location, really well maintained and offers the best view of the sunsets, fresh, delicious locally sourced food but most importantly the most extraordinary customer service. There are many hotels that aim to do the same, but the Westin excels. We have stayed there and in other properties in Maui, so it was an easy decision when we had to plan a wedding. From the very beginning we were offered choices for the event, support with planning, options for vendors and it felt like an effortless experience along the way. Mr. Jonathan Kaufman and Ms. Anna Kahana helped with all the planning. Mr. Kaufman called, wrote emails, followed up each time and when we finally arrived came to meet the entire party, stopped before the wedding to ensure everything was perfect and came to wish us farewell and thank us for choosing the Westin. Dawn at check in made our arrival truly memorable and our stay was spectacular because of her efforts as well. Her welcoming smile, genuine care for us will make us choose the Westin Maui again and again. It’s such a pleasure to be greeted by her, and her Bon Voyage hug is still one we will treasure. Next the welcome emails from Mae were very much appreciated and helpful; the sweet little turtle gift for the youngest wedding guest was such a wonderful touch and he loves his new friend. The food and service at all bars, restaurants and cafes were great as well. Rey, Allison and Oswaldo in the main restaurant were funny, quick, remembered us each time they saw us and made our dinning experience truly enjoyable. Also, please thank Andrew and Paul the busboys that worked nonstop. Max and Elmer at the pool were great as well - made sure we had a Mai Tai available and took such a great care of us! Guy and Brad at the bar - excellent experience as well. Always greeted us with a smile and had recommendations for drinks each time we stopped by. Daniel with the parrots was amazing, knowledgeable, patient and made the little one feel very special when explaining all about the parrot residents. Finally, Karine from France the hostess at the restaurant was awesome and Anna the housekeeper on our floor. Wayne, Manatu and Daryl at front desk also deserve a shout out! Thank you for making our stay so special, memorable and we hope to see you again soon!

“Our favorite stay in Maui!”

This is our 3rd stay and safe to say this is my family's favorite Kaanapali beach resort! Being directly next to Whalers village is a huge plus, just a few minute walk to stores, restaurants, snacks, shopping. Great to stop by for the family (8 & 13yr old). This is our 3rd stay and safe to say this is my family's favorite Kaanapali beach resort! Being directly next to Whalers village is a huge plus, just a few minute walk to stores, restaurants, snacks, shopping. Great to stop by for the family (8 & 13yr old). And Westin is by far the nicest in the area - great pools for both kids, a big and small Waterslide, and they love the new arcade (although that is definitely another dent in my wallet). The extras like feeding the koi in the morning, getting pics with the exotic birds (on your head!), weaving leis, are fun extras. Beach front is reasonable here, with not all the hotels still have much beach left. I used the fitness center every morning which is pretty good andy wife loves having a Starbucks on site. Kids like the acai bowls at the Ulu kitchen, although it has gotten pretty expensive - $19ea. Was like $12 a couple years ago - they are good tho. I guess that's the thing - people complain about all the fees, costs, but all the resorts here charge for parking, resort fees, so just assume that's part of the deal. We ate at the Mo'olelo restaurant multiple times, and it was not cheap, but food was good! And sitting on the sand looking out at the ocean, watching the boats at sunset, it can't be beat. I expect we'll end up going back again. Been to Maui 10x, stayed at 5 different Kaanapali resorts - this is definitely our top location. One tip is if you get it thru costco travel, while it usually is no cheaper up front, they may cover resort fees and give you a daily hotel credit to offset costs.

“Nice but wanted more for price”

I would give this hotel a 3.5 star. It was very expensive plus parking and the there were certain parts that just lacked for advertising a high end resort. I would give this hotel a 3.5 star. It was very expensive plus parking and the there were certain parts that just lacked for advertising a high end resort. Pros: family friendly, great pools, water slide, arcade, beautiful grounds, nice room. Close to shops and nice beach walking. Parts needing attention: we had to ask for toiletries to be refilled constantly and ran out one day, they have cold water brought out to the lobby from about 9-4. They do have water stations around the hotel and it is all warmish water- they need cold water access the majority of the day. They have a lot of restaurants on or near the property. Make reservations for dinner. The downfall is they all served almost the exact same thing, very pricey, and limited menus. We got tired of eating the same sort of food over and over again. Lunch was about $100 for a family of 4 and dinner even more. The front desk people were not as friendly as I thought they should be. One time I asked if they could fill up the cold water pitcher since they were out and they told me no. Other thoughts: The pool chairs also get reserved by people’s towels early. One day I woke up at 4:30 and sat in two and just watched people come and put their towels on chairs to reserve and leave. They have signs that any unattended chairs for more than an hour will have items removed. Yes this is true but they aren’t this process about 10am. And it isn’t consistent. You also had to pay to rent beach chairs. The elevators were crowded the majority of the time and we had to wait for an elevator sometimes. It would open and just be full of people. Helpful hints: wake up early for a good pool chairs, by 9-10 they are all reserved. Go to the grocery store down the street and buy breakfast items or lunch or drinks to save money. No microwave in rooms though. Or stop at Target and do a pick up order on the way to the resort. We did that for snacks and drinks and should have gotten some pool floaties too. I liked the overall vibe and the pool was the best part. But the price point and lacking a few but big components made me give this lower stars.
