We booked a studio through VRBO. It was basically a small hotel room with a kitchenette - fridge, microwave, sink, hot water pot, coffee maker, dishes, utensils. It was fine for us, but I would not put more than 2 people in it, even though there was a fold out loveseat. The bathroom was spacious and the room was very clean and had a nice view with a tiny terrace. There are free washers and dryers on a few floors, which was handy to dry swimsuits. The place itself was a nice break from busy Waikiki, the lagoon beach is lovely and the pools are nice, especially one that they have a "quiet" adult pool option. Also hot tubs. Towels are supplied. Yes, everything is expensive it is Hawaii. We ate at the Longboards causal restaurant which was nice but so expensive. Also the little shop with sandwiches was crazy expensive so we opted to get a few supplies for the room at the local Target. The parking lot was fine but the spots tiny, we were lucky we did not have a huge SUV to park. We enjoyed walking the path to the other resorts - there's no security which is a bit concerning, but felt very safe. Also walked to nearby Starbuck's and shops. Enjoyed a sunset cruise excursion that left out of the public lagoon which is also walking distance. Ko'Olina is not a far drive from any attractions and there's a Target, grocery, restaurants about 5-10 min drive. There are activities, some free and some an extra charge, which we did not do. Also bbq grills are outside to use. We were texted to visit the "aloha" desk - haha timeshare presentation - but we ignored it and were never pressured to sit through a presentation. Just stay away from the lobby desks. All in all, we enjoyed our relaxing stay.

As adventurous, independent travellers, we never stay at places like this. EVER. Dont think I've ever stayed at a Marriott, I'd usually avoid them at all costs. As adventurous, independent travellers, we never stay at places like this. EVER. Dont think I've ever stayed at a Marriott, I'd usually avoid them at all costs. But through VRBO found a last minute deal for $207 TOTAL. except parking(at $50 per night, by far the most I've ever paid for parking). Paid bit same for total dump in Waikiki-Oahu lodging absurdly overpriced second only to Maui Check in very friendly and efficient, at about 3, before 4pm check in. Got assigned an 11th floor ocean view room that was great, no complaints at all about the room. We loved the gas grills and used them for EVERY meal. Never spent a dime on Ko Olina property; drove 13 minutes to Safeway in Kapolei instead. Lagoons super murky, nothing to see. A different World than Electric Beach just 2 miles North which is Oahu's best snorkeling and dive site. Never went to the Welcome Center so spared any time share spiel. Check out was just leaving key cards in room with towel cards, easy. Was not really crowded, saw many rooms obviously vacant.

The Good: The grounds are immaculate, the rooms are well-appointed, and the staff is efficient at managing large crowds. The Good: The grounds are immaculate, the rooms are well-appointed, and the staff is efficient at managing large crowds. The Bad: We stayed here for our 40th anniversary and to break up a long flight from Thailand. Unfortunately, the "resort" experience felt more like a high-pressure timeshare trap. When we asked for help with their app at the welcome desk, we were met with misleading sales pitches instead of actual tech support. The Ugly: Due to the time lost dealing with their app, we couldn't get a dinner reservation and had to eat at the pool grill. I was served a dry, burnt BBQ sandwich that resulted in two days of illness, costing us a significant portion of our trip. Summary: If you want a peaceful resort stay, look elsewhere. This is a vacation club that prioritizes sales over guest well-being. We lost three days of our vacation to illness and frustration and couldn't wait to leave.
