I hesitate to write this review, as I don't want this resort to become well known and crowded. Our family of 4 (kids 7 &8) recently got home from a lovely week in Maui. We traded our timeshare through Interval International and ended up with a ground floor room close to the pool but with a beautiful ocean view. The 1BR rooms have a private bedroom with tall dresser, closet, in wall a/c and queen size bed. The bathroom has a tub and shower and is decent sized. The living room/kitchen is a bit on the small size, with a sofa and murphy bed. To use the murphy bed you have to move the table and 4 chairs around significantly, but it's definitely worth it. I will add that the murphy bed is very comfortable and sleeping with the screen doors and breeze was lovely. You can book this property directly as well, which our family did. The property is older, and the units show some wear and tear. We're not luxury resort people and are fine with older, but appreciate clean places like this. Kuleana has severa (8? I didn't count, sorry!)l buildings that are only 3 stories high. Most rooms have an ocean view and it's so nice. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained with loads of flowers, nice grass and trees. The Pool is great- 8 feet deep and much larger than most resort pools we've visited which is a really nice bonus too. There are a few outdoor showers throughout the property to get the sand off, and hoses too. There are 4 BBQ grills that are thoroughly cleaned every day and great for grilling while watching the sunset. They light the tiki torches every evening and it's just an absolutely beautiful place to be. There is a patch of beach on the north end of the property (where basking sea turtles are often found in the evenings) and a stretch at the southern end. We snorkeled out front every day and enjoyed seeing the local sea turtles. There are a lot of turtles out here, you can see them without even getting in the water. It is truly amazing. The waves were a bit rough and getting in and out wasnt' the easiest snorkeling we've ever done, but we mostly entered on the north beach and snorkeled our way south exiting on the south beach and walking back to our belongings on the north side. We used the laundry room during our stay and it worked well - you need to download the app but they sell detergent in the laundry room. Parking is free, but tiny spots and they'll leave you notes if you cross the lines or don't have your permit easily visible. Internet is free and worked well. There are no activities on site. The location is central to Kahana, between Kaanapali and Napili with easy access to all the west side of Maui has to offer. I can not wait for our next visit here!

“Amazing views”

Great location, amazing views. Watched whales from the patio. friendly staff , grounds very well maintained. Would definitely stay here again
