I've stayed at a bunch of Residence Inns over the years, and they vary in quality from place to place, but this one definitely holds its own in Downtown Chicago. The rooms and common spaces are very modern and well maintained. The location on the Mag Mile is a big plus. The only disappointing element is that the free breakfast has not been upscaled at all--it is still the mediocre breakfast you get at many hotel chains these days. Otherwise I highly recommend.

“Luxury stay at Residence Inn prices!”

My husband, dog, and I stayed here for 7 nights while having work done on our house, so it was a bit of a working “staycation.” We came here from another hotel where we had issues, so it was a bit of a last minute situation. The staff could not have been more gracious. The room was newly renovated and felt very luxurious. We booked a king studio and I was upgraded as a Bonvoy member. Each night we walked the dog, the door attendants would always remember us, pet the dog, etc. when we checked out, the dog wanted to say goodbye to his “friends” at the door LOL. We are ate at the restaurant which was a little overpriced, but no more than is typical for a hotel restaurant. Food was great. Breakfast was very good, if a little crowded, and has a beautiful view overlooking Michigan Ave. My only nit, is that when the front desk had an issue with my credit card due to an incorrect expiration date, my husband was locked out of the room and had to be walked up to the room by security (dog in tow!) to get his credit card and fix the situation (I was at work). This seems like overkill, as they could have just called him and he would have come down. I’m sure there’s a reason for this policy, but maybe it could have been handled differently? Everyone was still really nice about it though. Overall a wonderful stay and I didn’t want to go home!

This Marriott was a comfortable and convenient base for my business trip. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around the city to relax in the evening. The rooftop restaurant offers truly spectacular views, a highlights of my stay. My room was comfortable and quiet, providing a good space to unwind after work. It was easy to find restaurants nearby or order take outs. There were a few minor issues: the door didn’t self‑close, only one dishwasher tab was provided for my stay. They also ran out of tea bags for the breakfast buffet. None of these were major problems, just annoying but I’d happily consider staying again.

One of the only hotels in downtown Chicago, where you can reserve a three bedroom, overall this is a pretty high-end residence Inn because it was converted from a Conrad. But the service is that of a residence in or more like a Comfort Suites. It’s fine, but they run a very skinny crew and nobody can get to the phone when you’re calling from the room. The AC in our main part of the suite, not the bedrooms, never worked and was reported multiple times I would also say that the shower pressure is completely lacking, also reported multiple times, but it was the same in all three rooms so it must be something they cannot fix Very nice room though. Location is absolutely solid near Streeterville. In the heart of magnificent mile.
