A funeral brought us back to Homewood after moving away back in 1969. I visited over the years but had not stayed in quite a while. The hotel accommodations were everything that we expected! The rooms were well appointed and clean, clean and comfortable. Very quiet night made for a great night’s sleep. “Nice room. Overwhelming fragrance.”
The design of the room is quite nice and the bed was comfortable. Also, the front desk clerk was polite at check-in and the WiFi was fast. But there were problems. For one, there was a strong fragrance at this hotel that persisted. It actually hurt my throat. Also, it was very cold the night… more

“Not for fragrance sensitive guests.”
Sulfurous, sewer gas smell pervaded hotel in evening. Which explains the over use of scent throughout, which can be tough for folks sensitive to fragrances. Nice enough boutique hotel in exurban Chicago but fail to understand the value proposition for 200+ per night price point.
