Des Moines is lucky to have it, and I am already counting the days until my next visit. Location — Simply Unbeatable The hotel's position in downtown Des Moines is absolutely perfect. Being part of the Des Moines Skywalk system and connected directly to the Iowa Events Center is a game-changer, especially during Iowa winters when the last thing you want to do is bundle up just to get to your event. Wells Fargo Arena is just a four-minute walk away, and the Iowa State Capitol Building is only 1.4 miles out — meaning you're never more than a few minutes from wherever you need to be. Whether you're in town for a convention, a concert, or just exploring Des Moines, this location truly cannot be beat. The room was modern and well-appointed with plenty of outlets and charging ports — a 50-inch flat-screen TV, a large workspace, an in-room safe, a refrigerator, and a coffee maker made it feel like a home away from home. The blackout curtains are magnificent — I slept like royalty. The bed was cloud-soft, the linens crisp and fresh, and the deluxe bath products in the spa-like bathroom were a lovely touch that elevated the whole experience. Every single member of the staff I encountered — from the front desk team to housekeeping to the restaurant servers — was warm, professional, and went above and beyond without being asked. The staff is amazing and helpful, and that sentiment is something you feel the moment you arrive. They remembered my name, anticipated my needs, and made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another room number. That level of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. Splunk Park Street Kitchen & Bar — Exceptional Dining On-Site I had dinner at Park Street Kitchen & Bar and it was absolutely wonderful. Guests can enjoy breakfast at Park Street Kitchen, take in city views from the terrace, or relax with a swim in the indoor pool — and I took full advantage of both the terrace and the restaurant. The al fresco eating area complete with a fireplace on the outdoor deck creates one of the most relaxing dining atmospheres I've ever experienced at a hotel. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and every bit as good as a standalone restaurant. Room service was equally prompt and delicious. The heated indoor pool was refreshing and spotlessly clean. The 24-hour fitness center is well-equipped with everything you need for a serious workout. The free shuttle service to Des Moines International Airport — just six miles away — was punctual, comfortable, and stress-free. The 24-hour business center and convenience shop rounded out what is genuinely one of the most complete amenity packages I've encountered anywhere.
