We stayed here Nov 25-27 2025 and were very pleased. First time at a Hampton Inn. We’ve stayed in hotels that are a little cheaper, but still thought $136 (total price) per night was a decent value these days. I could tell that the air was clean everywhere in the hotel. The last hotel room where we stayed even though “smoke free” smelled slightly smokey. Very friendly staff and I ask that, even though I didn’t get his name, the young man who was managing breakfast Thanksgiving morning be recognized, along with Ben, and Melissa! There were other noteable staff (front desk-gal with blond hair) and a housekeeping staff. Unfortunately I didn’t get all names. Smiles and willingness to help go a long way. The breakfast quality was very good! I think the omelettes use real, not processed cheese. The cleanliness of the hotel, and the breakfast quality overall are what stands out from our experience. We will be back!! Whoever is reading this, just a friendly reminder if you don’t already, tip your housekeeping staff! I am not someone who goes around saying every single tip cup at the counter should be filled, but for this type of job, go online and check to see what reasonable tips are. If you appreciate a clean room, then show it. I know. I know—we’re all paying so much these days, but tip anyway. Also, we have noticed other hotels no longer have Gideon Bibles in the drawer. We want to thank whoever the decision makers are for having/keeping them at Hampton. In fact, there was some writing in the front of it, so somebody looked at it. Please understand that having a Bible in a hotel drawer is not being pushy or inappropriate. This country has high level of hopelessness, eg-is at a record high for suicides. If having a Bible in a hotel room could bring hope, then isn’t it worth it?

There is so much that I can say positively about the wonderful Hotel, that will never be able to put it all in this review! I stayed with my family as a little boy here at this hotel. I travel for work quite a bit and I am VERY particular when it comes to where I stay. In fact, I will usually call the hotel in advance and ask questions such as, when was the last renovation done, are the pools and hot tubs open, etc. A few years ago, I had seen some reviews about this hotel that were not quite as good as I had hoped. However, this year to review seem to be better, and I decided to give it a try. I am overwhelmed with EVERYTHING that I have seen and experienced with this property. From the obvious updates that have been done, to the incredible pool area that is as good as I remember when I was a kid, to the game room ( first hotel I've been at in a long while that actually had a game room!), to the workout hurry up, my super clean room with incredibly comfortable bed, a huge TV and great shower! Finally, the staff. They were amazing! Take care of my needs, and I had a special need that I requested and they didn't think twice about helping me out! I know this with you probably sounds like the hotel put it in, but it is real I promise. So, if you're here on business or have kids, this place is a great option, I think actually the best option, in dubuque!

“Better than most”

Average room. The air conditioning unit in the room was rather noisy. The floor was also damp near the unit. This was most likely the cause of an odd smell in the room.

This was an OK place for one night. Cleanliness could be a bit better. There was lots of detritus in the hallways – Q-tips, candy wrappers, an empty water bottle, etc. And the chair in our room had crumbs all over it. This was an OK place for one night. Cleanliness could be a bit better. There was lots of detritus in the hallways – Q-tips, candy wrappers, an empty water bottle, etc. And the chair in our room had crumbs all over it. The bed was fairly comfortable but the pillows were terrible – old and lumpy. The Kleenex box in the bathroom was empty as was the bottle of conditioner in the shower – housekeeping needs to be more aware of making sure things are stocked. Breakfast was the usual Hampton Inn fare. Staff wasn’t particularly friendly except for the nice woman who checked us out when we left – the rest were quite perfunctory. All in all, it was just OK and we’ll probably look elsewhere if we find ourselves in the area again.
