I got a custom facial at the Spa. It’s the best facial I have had. They use warm damp towels instead of a steam to open the skin, which is gentler and the staff is fantastic The staff really sets this place apart though. They let you lead — talkative or quiet, curious or just checked out — they match your energy without missing a beat. And when we hit a snag with the credit card machine at checkout, they handled it with so much grace and made it right. No fuss, no awkwardness. Just good people. If you’re visiting Galena, don’t skip this one. Their technique is thoughtful in ways you don’t expect. I stayed here for a conference and was able to visit the historic town of Galena. I really enjoyed the peaceful setting. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but that’s part of the charm—surrounded by trees, rolling hills, blooming flowers, and a quiet lake, it felt like a true getaway. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better. The only downside is that the rooms could use updating. That said, everything was clean and had all the essentials I needed, so it didn’t take away from the overall experience. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic place to unwind, this is a great option.

The property is fantastic, the facilities are somewhat dated but not terrible. Our main issue comes from the staff who are very friendly. The property is fantastic, the facilities are somewhat dated but not terrible. Our main issue comes from the staff who are very friendly. However, extremely slow, sometimes rude, and do not provide the level of service you would expect from a property like this. The food is also slow to come out and average at best. The hours of the restaurants are not very conducive and even the gym had odd hours. The coffee they advertise as Maxwell house and when you mention that it is cold they respond by saying they are not surprised it is from yesterday. The one positive is the golf courses are nice but even the staff there are painful to work with.
