All in all, not bad. The tp is in an extremely awkward place and there was a loose plate on the shower wall control. Also, the pull-up sink stopper did not work. The hotel is in a convenient location, just a few minutes from the places we needed to go.

My wife and I were heading to Northern Kentucky to attend a conference. After checking, I found that I had enough Wyndham Reward Points for a free night stay here. Wingate is Wyndham's answer to the Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn Express/Fairfield Inn level, so I figured that it would suffice for a night. The Erlanger location is tucked back off of Donaldson Road, though access is from Houston Road. Although the hotel is next to I-75, it is in an otherwise quiet and undeveloped area. The building itself looks fairly new and in good shape, although there is very little landscaping around it. The lobby and public areas seem clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn't working in the lobby and hallways, leading to a fairly stuffy atmosphere. The hallways seemed rather dim as well, with the lights off in the pool area and a flickering light above the pool door (and near the elevators), giving that area a creepy vibe. The room itself was very nice: large space; simply but tastefully furnished, and a comfortable bed. We had a king bed, with an armchair in the corner facing the TV. The armchair was small and not particularly comfortable, chosen more for its looks than functionality. The room had the standard amenities: refrigerator, microwave, cofee maker. But oddly, no drawers for storing anything. There was a decent-sized closet. The TV was good, but the remote was hard to operate and didn't always respond when you pressed buttons. There was only one mirror in the main living space, right next to the bathroom door. The bathroom was good - although the vanity top was too high (this seems to be getting more common). However, there were plenty of towels, and good water pressure with plenty of hot water. We got a good night's sleep - no problems with noise from inside or outside. The breakfast was fairly typical. However, the hotel caters to tour groups. Consequently, the breakfast area was slammed. I felt bad for the sole attendant trying to keep everything stocked. The preparation seemed to suffer as well - watery eggs, grey-looking sausage, and a waffle maker that didn't stay consistently hot, leading to a rubbery waffle. We ended up eating breakfast in the conference room, which was opened as overflow space. The air conditioning still wasn't working in the morning, to the atmosphere was still stuffy. The staff did the best job they could, both at check-in and check out - and they were polite as well. The good things outweighed the bad, but just barely. The accumulation of small issues really brings the overall score down. If I were paying full price, I would pick another brand.
