Overall I was quite impressed with the remodeled hotel that is now called Caesars Republic. The public areas are bright and cheery with many major improvements (although the front desk atrium unfortunately had smoke drifting down from the 2nd floor casino, not a fun welcome). Pet Peeve: The entry lobby is reached from the valet or car drop off area by either revolving doors ... or very hard to open heavy doors (great for winter insulation). With all of the $$$ spent on renovation, a POWER-ASSISTED door for folks hauling luggage is DESPERATELY needed. I've seen this for way too many years. The renovated rooms and hallways and elevators are very bright and cheery, bravo. And the self-parking garage, though plagued by paying options and gates that confuse newcomers and still often don't recognize my diamond card magnetic strip, was nonetheless very clean with great power cleaning. (Hope they can stay that way through the winter grime and road dirt...) The pool area is especially beautiful with its 3 soaking tubs and vastly improved swimming pool. Happily most of the umbrellas and lounge chairs are still free. I could see smiles on staff with pride of service, very different from recent years. The Remus Tower is the former Mountain Tower with elevators in the middle. We stayed in the Romulus Tower (formerly called Tahoe Tower) nearer the registration desk. Remus typically has smaller rooms (290 to 360 sq ft) while Romulus has up to 575 sq ft. We were on the top 18th floor of the Romulus as Diamond members. There were 2 chairs, small and new but not plush. Bedside charging stations are new and very nice as is bed lighting. Welcome Screen on large new TV offers good variety of options, though only 49 TV channels. Bedding felt new and fresh. Minifrig, iron, in-room safe, and Keurig Coffeemaker provided. The latter had 2 regular Lavazza "Dolcevita Classico Medium Roast" and 1 decaf Starbucks "Pike Place Roast." (Would have preferred stronger French or Italian Roast but I'm pretty picky.) Only big complaint was NO COFFEE CUPS (overlooked by housekeeping?) but fortunately I always travel with my own porcelain cups (see, I am a snob). Bonus points for 3 liquid creamers. If you try to reach front desk, be prepared for a long phone tree of recorded messages. Mini-bar is touch sensitive so watch the little ones! Final day we had a "room occupied" sign on door and a scheduled 12 noon departure through front desk. Nonetheless housekeeping opened our door without knocking (or at least we didn't hear it if they did) at 10 am. Rude enough that we didn't leave our customary tip. Suggest you put the extra lock on when in the room. Overall I was happy to see the upgraded remodeling. They did a lot of things right. Now if they can keep staff happy and not charge too much, they should hold their own against the nearby competition again. If all Caesars properties enjoyed this kind of refreshing I'd probably be gambling there now.

Let’s start with the positive. We did not get newly renovated room BUT that is ok. The room is clean and very specious. I am a bit of a bathroom snob but I would give this a 9 out of 10. There is a tiny bit of mold in the shower corner and the shower door is a bit wobbly. The check in was great and our agent was very sweet. I had to call housekeeping for some more body wash and they were very accommodating. So now for the not so positive….. my room is SO HOT!!!!! I have the AC as low as it can go. We are on our 3rd day here and I haven’t slept for the past 2 nights. I called up engineering while my husband was golfing. He told me the thermostat isn’t working correctly but he said his device says the Air is blowing at 63. I questioned that and he was very confident that I was mistaken. Ok, I guess….. my husband walked I. And the first thing he said is, why is it still so hot in here?????? Ugh I know, and at this point I just want to go back to SoCal. I keep the black out shades closed all day hoping that would help but clearly that did not. The WiFi has been a bit wonky, making it a little difficult to answer a few work emails. If you can get a room with AC, I think you will enjoy your stay here.
