Just returned home from yet another fabulous stay at Hidden Pond. Normally we stay in the Treetop Lodges but this time we brought our dog and stayed in a beautiful cottage. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed back by several of our old friends, Jorge, Bridget and Priscilla at the front desk. Priscilla even brought us special gifts from her home in Mexico! It is so nice to be greeted by familiar faces who truly know us and remember our preferences. It just seems so unusual these days! We also met Bethany, Sasha and Maddie, three great new additions to the team who exemplify the stellar hiring and training process at Hidden Pond. It’s the people that make the difference! The property is beautiful and wooded with trails and a fabulous spa. We were thrilled to see that Earth (their renowned gourmet restaurant) added back the bar seating this year so we could sit and chat with Patrick the legendary mixologist (take a class with him if you ever get the chance!). The location is off the beaten path but not too far from town and right up the road from Goose Rocks beach and their sister property Tides Inn. We highly recommend the property and plan to be back in the Fall.

“Quiet and comfortable. Will return!”

We booked our stay here through Inspirato and stayed in Unit 23, a one-bedroom with a screened sunporch. We booked our stay here through Inspirato and stayed in Unit 23, a one-bedroom with a screened sunporch. The room itself was very comfortable, toasty warm, and has a delightful gas fireplace across from the bed. The bathroom features a well sized custom shower and has a separate heating unit. Parking is immediately outside the unit so is quite convenient. 23 is a quick walk from the main lodge and a slightly longer walk to the restaurant. The room has a refrigerator which is kept stocked with water, orange juice, and yogurt. Fresh pastries are delivered to the room with a thermos of coffee each morning. A campfire is lit each evening by the lodge and is well supplied with marshmallows, Hershey bars, and graham crackers for make-your-own s'mores. The sunroom has a daybed and was very comfortable for daytime lounging. Note that 23, along with several other cottages, are backed against the internal road leading to the restaurant, so there tends to be significant traffic here, with carts and occasional trucks (delivering to the restaurant, I suspect) through the day. This is noticeable only if you leave the door to the sunporch open, or if you're sitting on the porch. The rest of the facility tends to be quiet and peaceful at all hours. I might suggest upgrading the golf carts that staff use to go back and forth among the cottages to electric rather than gas, if only to quiet things down further. The refrigerator in our unit was large enough to be used for additional items that we purchased at the nearby Hannafords. It had a tendency to have a high pitched whistle when running, but this was clearly not a malfunction but rather just a vote that I'd get a different brand fridge next time were it up to me. We turned off the fridge at night to keep the room quiet, and we were fine with that solution. We appreciated not being nickel-and-dimed on everything. I've stayed at a few locations where there's an extra charge if you want s'mores by the campfire, an extra charge for orange juice in the refrigerator, an extra charge if you want the fresh morning pastries....it gets old quickly, and the approach here at Hidden Pond is much better. We found staff overall to be helpful and supportive and would definitely return in the future.

Hidden Pond is absolute heaven. From the moment we arrived, we were transported into a serene, beautifully curated world that blends nature, luxury, and genuine hospitality in the most effortless way. Our private bungalow was tucked among the trees - peaceful, perfectly designed, and beyond comfortable. The floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, plush king bed, spa-style bathroom, and cozy outdoor daybed made it feel like a luxury treehouse retreat. Every detail was thoughtful and intentional, down to the Frette linens and curated local touches. The Tree Spa was like something out of a dream nestled in the forest canopy with gentle breezes and birdsong all around. My massage was deeply relaxing and tailored to me, using gorgeous natural oils and herbs. It felt restorative on every level. Dining at Earth at Hidden Pond was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The setting is rustic and elegant, with twinkling lights, warm woods, and a cozy yet elevated vibe. Every dish was a masterpiece - fresh, seasonal, and full of flavor. The heirloom tomatoes, wood-fired meats, and local lobster were standouts, and the herb-infused cocktails were divine. Whether sitting by the fire pit or gathered around the table, it felt like a special occasion every night. We also loved the pools, the outdoor yoga, and the peaceful walking paths through the birch and fir forest. Even the fitness studio was top-notch, with everything from Pelotons to Hydrow rowers and Mirror classes. Hidden Pond isn’t just a resort it’s a full experience. A sanctuary. A place to truly reset and reconnect with yourself, your partner, and the natural world around you. We left feeling lighter, inspired, and already planning our return. Truly one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. A huge thank you to all the amazing staff, everyone was so kind, welcoming, and truly made our stay special. We can’t wait to return!

Positives: -- Gorgeous room in a beautiful setting. Lots of privacy -- a feeling like we were alone on the property. -- Excellent service, with the staff responding quickly to requests. We had a minor emergency, and there was an immediate response -- particularly impressive given how spread apart the units are. -- Great food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals at Earth and at Tides Beach Club. -- The beach! Goose Rocks Beach is incredible, and it was such a treat to have beach chairs and umbrellas set up for us. Not so positive: -- This is not the place for you if you're hoping to hang out at the bar and have a great cocktail before dinner, at least on the main property. There's effectively no bar in the Earth restaurant -- and no bartender (the waitstaff mixes their own cocktails, oddly). The pool bars are minimal -- canned only at one, and with an inexperienced bartender at the other. -- The pools seemed a little sad -- little leaf-filled when we were there. And the restaurant sets up dinner tables around the adult pool, so it can feel a little odd sitting there in the late afternoon.
