This was the second time this year that we stayed at this hotel. We had a harbor view room. We arrived on a Friday evening so we were able to catch the fireworks from the baseball stadium from our room. The rooms are modern and clean. The beds are comfortable. There is a mini fridge in the room. Check-in was easy. We used the parking garage next to the hotel. There is a walkway from the garage to the hotel. There is a hotel restaurant and bar. The breakfast buffet includes an omelette station, eggs, variety of breakfast meats, breakfast potatoes, fresh fruits, yogurt, grits and oatmeal. There are options for grab and go meals. The hotel is near many of the attractions at the Inner Harbor. We are planning another trip to Baltimore later this year and this is where we plan to stay.

Our 2-night visit at this property had some positives and negatives: Positives: -I originally booked a one king harbor-view room. At the time of our trip, my husband was getting over a cold and I also had some health concerns that would make sharing one bed difficult. Upon check-in, the hotel was able to switch us to a room with two beds (also with Harbor view) without any increased cost. -Our room was clean, and the beds were very comfortable; I slept very well in it for both nights we were there. The WiFi worked well, as well as everything else in the sleeping area of the room, and the closet and mini refrigerator, which we used for restaurant leftovers. -The harbor-view room afforded us with great views of the Inner Harbor, along with the famous buildings and sites near the area: Federal Hill, Inner Harbor Marina, the Ravens’ Stadium, part of the aquarium, the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, part of the green roofed Inner Harbor complex, and the swooping roof of the Baltimore Visitors Center. Negatives: -The handle of the toilet in our room was loose when we test-flushed the toilet. After a couple uses, the plastic nut that held the handle in place fell all the way into the tank, rendering the toilet useless. Fortunately, my husband is handy and was able to fix it without our having to call the front desk for maintenance help. (Looking back, I'm not sure how quickly the hotel would be able to help us on a holiday weekend, nor be able to move us to a similar room if it was close to sold out.) -During the evening of our first night, I turned on the tap to wash my hands, and was met with brownish/tan water. The tan water eventually changed clear after running it a while, but after that episode, I made sure to get bottled water to keep in the room for teeth brushing and drinking. I wasn’t sure whether we’d have another episode of brown water coming out of the sink faucet. I'm sure the water was 'safe' but it just looked gross. -On the first morning of our stay, the water pressure in the tub and shower was very low. Water weakly flowed from the shower head, despite turning everything off and turning it back on. It was hard to shower when one’s back is backed against the shower apparatus to be able to bathe. A half hour later, it was as if someone had opened up the water valve somewhere, because the water flow was much more forceful out of the faucet and shower for my husband’s shower. We did not have issues with the water pressure the second morning we were there. It seemed to be a one-off experience, but was not predictable. -The hotel’s restaurant (Apropoe’s) served breakfast buffet the Monday morning, rather than going back to their a la carte menu. This was probably due to it being a holiday weekend. The breakfast buffet is their money-maker—it cost $70 for the two of us, ($34/person) including added costs for tea and coffee, and orange juice. While the made to order omelets they made for me were quite good, having to pay over $30 for that plus having a bagel or some other starch from their buffet is kind of pricey. Bottom line: This hotel’s location is great---it’s within walking distance of many tourist areas of downtown Baltimore, just a few minutes by foot to Fells Point, Little Italy, and to water taxis (from Fells Point or Aquarium), the aquarium, and other sites. If you can swing the cost of getting a harbor view room, it can make your stay here memorable. However, based on the so-so experience we had with our sleeping room, we may choose another hotel in the general area of Aliceanna Street the next time we’re in Baltimore.
