September 2025 This is a historic hotel that I’ve been curious about and have wanted to stay at for years. I believe it was built in 1954 and it shows a bit. The front desk personnel are friendly and check in was quick (I checked in on a Tuesday after 5:00 pm in early September, so there was no one else waiting to check in). I had booked a “basic” economy/small room - the least expensive room they have. So I wasn’t expecting much. The room was indeed small (and the bathroom had a small shower stall) but I expected this. What I didn’t expect was the pervasive mildew (?) smell throughout my 3 night stay, which I reported twice (once to the front desk and once to housekeeping). I think housekeeping DID try to address it, but the smell persisted. I attempted to open the window to air the room out, but I think the window was sealed. I never noticed the odor in the hallway or front parlor area, so Im hoping it was an isolated problem. Despite the odd odor in my room (which I THINK was mildew) I liked the hotel. I loved the big front porch with multiple, large rocking chairs. I loved the view of the ocean from the front porch. I loved the location at 15th street and the boardwalk. I liked the availability of many nice restaurants and Starbucks within walking distance. Davinci Italian restaurant is on the 1st floor, entry level just off the boardwalk and is excellent. The Captain’s Table (excellent) is right next door and Coastal Salt (also excellent) is one block away. Back to the room: the double bed was reasonably comfortable and the tv worked ok. Plenty of hot water when showering. The air conditioner was an in the wall/window style and is noisy when it goes on. Housekeeping and maintenance are doing a good job of keeping an older, historic hotel in good shape. There is a large outdoor pool and it was nice and clean (although cold). Bicycle rentals are available right out front. I liked it here, but I enjoy historic hotels. Read more Tip: They have limited parking close to the hotel, but across the street is a much larger parking lot and side street parking may be available.

The hotel is in a great location on the boardwalk with rocking chairs on the front patio and a really nice pool and pool bar in the back. The lobby has a coffee bar and really friendly staff. Parking available beside the hotel. However, the room was way smaller than any that were pictured during booking- like really small. Also, you could tell that whoever cleaned didnt really know how to clean properly. They left someone's socks behind the dresser, spilled soda was in the ice bucket, and the bathroom floor was not very clean. Minor things, but the comforter on the bed was also like 50 years old. But the bed was clean with clean sheets and we were fine there for a few days. I just had to sani wipe some things to feel better lol.

We really enjoyed this place. We went for the air show and it was the perfect location on the boardwalk! Comfy beds and pillows with a small frig in the room. Great coffee in the lobby. Breakfast 1 block off the boardwalk at Laytons Alia and Ashley at the front desk were great, personable and just super friendly. I can’t say enough good things about those two girls!

ars - Harrison Hall Harrison Hall Hotel is a quaint, little hotel along the boardwalk. If you’re visiting and planning on spending majority of your time outside on the beach and the boardwalk, this place would be okay for you. To be honest, there are a lot of cosmetic repairs that need to be done. For example, the tiles in our bathroom were chipped, the bathroom door has water damage on the bottom, and there’s a hole above the entryway to our room that hasn’t been repaired. None of these things affected our stay in anyway, it’s just worth mentioning. The things really knocked off stars for me were: 1) This hotel only supplied bath wash. Not shampoo or conditioner. I would prefer that with just bar soap and their “luxury” body wash and hand soap. 2) They’re comforters are not comforters. They’re almost like empty duvet covers? with sheets. I get you’re trying to match an oceanic theme but I would be content with just plain white fluffy comforter. And don’t get this confused, everything is clean, there is definitely NOT an issue with bugs. It’s more about temperature control and comfort. 3) Breakfast. Okay, okay, hear me out. I’m not asking for a spread or anything fancy. But maybe cereal boxes or oatmeal packets? Toast or muffins? I think that would really boost the stars and reviews. Overall, this hotel has a charming appeal, the staff is friendly and helpful, there is plenty of parking (1 car per room; three separate parking lots within reasonable walking distance), and its location is A+.
