For family reasons, we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Woburn three times recently. Yes - it is well-located near I-93 and I 95, clean, comfortable, with a good restaurant and bar but it's the people who make it special. We were warmly welcomed by every member of the staff we met, but particularly want to thank Diana, Michelle, Kelly, Fouzia and Tasha for making it a place to which we returned and will again. Thank you for your kindness, attentiveness, and for making us feel as if we were with friends not strangers.

“Good property but making unpopular changes”

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the last few years and found the hotel clean, affordable and centrally located just outside of Boston. My wife and I have stayed here several times over the last few years and found the hotel clean, affordable and centrally located just outside of Boston. We like the layout of courtyard hotels and consider them amongst our favorite chains. This particular hotel is located inside n industrial park about 15 minutes outside of the city. The employees are kind and there’s plenty of parking. It is also generally quiet when we’ve been here. Recently the hotel has implemented a $10 nightly parking charge. The explanation for this new fee is “to pay for landscaping costs”. I should point out that there is minimal landscaping to be maintained, and most guests don’t spend any time on the hotel grounds, instead choosing to use the property as a home base while visiting the city. Employees have clearly been instructed to tell guests that this fee is “the industry standard”, but I think it’s rubbish. I can understand charging for parking in an urban area where parking is limited, but to charge this fee for a hotel in an industrial park with plenty of empty parking spaces is nonsense. Factor your costs into the room price and don’t pick guest’s pockets with a lane excuse for doing so. It is never a smart idea to start charging for something that has always been free, especially without good reason. While the charge itself is small, it suggests the beginning of a nickel dime mentality within the chain. This is so disappointing. I will be seeking alternative accommodations in the future.

The reception staff provided exceptional service during check-in. Diana at the restaurant was particularly attentive, and I received outstanding service at the bar, where I savored delectable meatballs. While the hotel exhibits some signs of age and could benefit from renovation, its proximity to the highway compensates for the lack of nearby walking amenities. Despite these minor considerations, I would consider staying at the hotel again.
