We liked this hotel during our stay at Ann Arbor. The location is very good, quiet. This hotel has ample parking. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The area is well light for a late evening walk and felt safe. The hotel is maintained very well; rooms are spacious and clean. The gym and pool are great addition too. The hot breakfast is a big plus at this location. It is very interesting to see tortillas and their go to sides. The kitchen is very comfortable, clean and spacious. It is well stocked with vessels. This location is definitely worth staying. The location is very drivable distance to the university.

Our room was a double bedroom and the room layout was great! Bedroom doors were very soundproof (important for us) and the kitchen and dining area worked out well. Both bedrooms had a full bath, one with a tub shower and the other a shower stall. During our entire stay (6 days) there was no elevator service so we had to walk up two floors to our room. Not a big deal, but it made move-in and move-out more difficult to haul all our bags up and down the stairs. Speaking of maintenance, our room had one main ceiling light out, a bedside light that turned on and off on its own (visibly cracked cover), and a clogged sink. They need to work on that. The free breakfast was better than most hotels! They had eggs, sausage (links or patties), two waffle machines, cereal, porridge, and toast. Not much in the way of desert, but that may be for the best for me :) It's selection was kind of sparse, and the eggs were not real (powdered?), but it was hot and plentiful. The coffee was ... OK. Seating plentiful. The front desk staff was very friendly and they apologized for the lack of elevator service. The kitchen staff seemed to be having a bad week (never a smile, just watched the customers like a hawk), but I guess she kept the food trays filled. The hotel is on the north-east side of Ann Arbor, close to the city and has slightly better access to the DTW airport. No other shops in the area, mostly commercial. There is an exercise room and pool, but we didn't use them so no comment. Atmosphere of the hotel was clean and friendly (front desk only), but they could do more to make the front area more cozy. There is a fireplace at the front, but they could make that more usable by customers. The price was not bad for a 2 bedroom booked during a UMich convocation week. Overall we would come back here, mostly because of the 2 bedrooms and breakfast (despite being fake eggs).
