What a great new hotel near Kenyon College! We stayed one night, it was so comfortable! We used the gym and guest laundry! Very nice. Everyone was so kind! Sol Marie was very helpful at the front desk! We will be back!

Very nice Hotel. The room are very rooming with very large TV with the Keurig coffee maker. The only issue is the shower water adjustment that I have never seen before after all the years of traveling. It functions kinds strange with either luke warm or very cold. Very nice Hotel. The room are very rooming with very large TV with the Keurig coffee maker. The only issue is the shower water adjustment that I have never seen before after all the years of traveling. It functions kinds strange with either luke warm or very cold. My wife decided not to take a shower because of this issue; The breakfast area is very large with plenty of seatings. The food was good. Overall, we will be back after I check out the shower water adjustment first.

“Clean hotel, Disappointing Customer Service”

I was very disappointed with our stay at the Hampton Inn in Mount Vernon. Two weeks before our visit, I called to request adjoining rooms and was assured it would not be a problem. The day before check-in, I called again to confirm the adjoining rooms and to ask about late checkout options. I was then told they couldn't assign rooms before arrival and that there were no adjoining rooms left. Yet, I could check in on the app. I was also told late checkout could only be discussed at check-in, which has not been our experience at other Hilton properties where we've stayed. When we checked in, we were told there were no late checkout options available. The only solution offered was to pay the full rack rate of $156 for an additional night. However, I checked the Hilton app and found the same room available for $118. When I asked about the price difference, I was told I could get the $118 rate—but only if we packed everything up and moved to a different room. Then I was told there were no additional rooms so I would have to pay full price. The front desk representative couldn’t explain why rooms were available online but they were unwilling to offer us the lower price and stay in our current room. We were in town for a swim meet and only needed a few extra hours before leaving. We would have gladly paid a reasonable fee for a late checkout or an additional night at the online price, but moving rooms for just a few additional hours made no sense. Instead of offering a practical solution, the staff made the process unnecessarily difficult. The hotel itself is nice, clean, and modern since it's only about a year old. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the property. We also received a note saying our room could not be cleaned because personal items were left on the beds. The only item left on the bed was my son's blanket folded on the edge, which should not have prevented housekeeping from servicing the room. To make matters worse, we requested clean towels twice, and no one ever brought them. Overall, while the hotel is clean and well-maintained, the lack of flexibility, poor communication, and unaccommodating customer service made this a frustrating experience. I expected much better service from a Hilton-branded property.

“Freezing room”

Room temperature was set at 52 degrees when it was cold and snowy outside; AC was on instead of heat - took hours to get room to 68 degrees; conditioner and body wash bottles were empty.
