““Pet friendly” not really!”

My daughter in law and I stayed here in November 2025 with my standard poodle. We chose this hotel because it was listed as “pet friendly.” We were in the area to visit family who live nearby. The room was nice, well appointed and quiet. Because we had a pet with us they put us in a 1st floor room near the back door. Easy to get in and out with the pup. Good nighttime lighting in the parking lot and plenty of room to walk the dog. I always pick up after my dog, but the hotel made this difficult, as there is no outside trash can near the door. So I had no choice but to bring the bagged poop inside and put it in the trash can in our room. Gross. The first morning we went to the lobby and requested that they provide an outside trash can. (Didn’t happen.) We decided if they really wanted us to be responsible dog owners they would have made a little more effort. So after that first day we didn’t bother picking up the poop. I agree with some of the posts that griped about everything having a price. Bottled water for $6 a bottle. Parking not free.

“Pluses and Minuses”

I grew up around here, and when I visit for weddings and funerals, this is usually where I stay. Here's the positive: 1) The hotel is very, very clean. I grew up around here, and when I visit for weddings and funerals, this is usually where I stay. Here's the positive: 1) The hotel is very, very clean. The public restrooms, main floor areas and the room are spotless. Kudos to housekeeping. 2) The bathrooms are a good size and the bed and linens are comfortable. It was also super quiet. 3) The breakfast area--open from 6:30 - 9:30--has a good selection of food and Starbucks coffee. It's also comfortable to sit there, eat and read the news. The people working there moved as quickly as possible when it got crowded and were friendly. The negatives: 1) PARKING. They charge $15/day to park a car. This is not a city. It's not valet. It's not a garage. And they don't SHARE it with any other business. They don't even give you a pass to put in your window. So why are they charging us? There's no place else to park. It's not like you can park your car at Tice's and walk down the main road to the hotel. It angers me that I am getting nickel-and-dimed for something like this. Marriott: YOU CAN DO BETTER. 2) Water pressure: This is a Bonvoy hotel, meaning they care about the environment. Unfortunately, it took me nearly 10 minutes to rinse the shampoo from my hair. The water pressure is way too weak. So you end up using MORE water and taking a LONGER shower than necessary. 3) Check - in: For the well-being of your employees, please update your system. I had one night with gifted points, and a second night that I paid for. Currently, both guest and employees need to do TWO SEPARATE reservations to make this work. In previous visits, this was also the case, so it's not the people at the desk. It's your system. And it desperately needs an upgrade. Will I come back? I'll consider it if you do free parking. Otherwise, I'm going to another hotel.
