This hotel is right across the street from the bus stop that takes you right into NYC. There is a parking garage available on site and you can park your car there for free. Breakfast is included and fresh each morning!

Had a very pleasant 5-night stay at Hyatt Place Secaucus while visiting New York from the UK before moving on to Orlando. Upon arriving in the US, we took a rideshare from Newark Airport, which was straightforward and convenient. The fare was around $50 for an XXL vehicle. All of the hotel staff we encountered were extremely polite, friendly, and welcoming. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. Our room was on the 4th floor and featured two beds and a sofa bed. It was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with plenty of power outlets for charging devices. The beds were very comfortable, and although the sink was located outside the bathroom, this wasn't an issue for us. The fridge was particularly useful during our stay. There was also a microwave available, although we didn't need to use it. A large window made the room bright and airy during the daytime. Breakfast was fairly simple but offered enough variety to start the day well. The main seating area can get busy at peak times, but there is an overflow dining room and additional seating near reception, so we were always able to find somewhere to sit. The location was excellent for our trip. We spent several days exploring Manhattan, visiting attractions including the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, RiseNY, Central Park, and the 9/11 Memorial. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its easy access to New York City. Using the hotel's rear exit, you simply cross the road to reach the NJ Transit 320 bus stop. The journey into Manhattan typically takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Tickets can be purchased easily from the machine at the bus stop. At the time of our visit, fares were approximately $4.95 one-way or $9.90 return. We used a mix of one-way and return tickets depending on our plans. On some evenings, we knew we would be staying late in Manhattan and opted for a rideshare back to the hotel. While rideshares can be expensive when crossing the New Jersey/New York state line, they can be a worthwhile option after a long day of sightseeing. During our stay in May, we were advised that returning on the bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal before 10pm was generally considered safe. The bus conveniently drops you just steps away from Times Square. Even with the occasional rideshare, staying here and commuting into Manhattan worked out significantly cheaper than booking a hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The area around the hotel was another pleasant surprise. Walmart is around a 10-minute walk away and was ideal for picking up supplies. We took a rideshare back after purchasing heavier items such as cases of water. There are also several restaurants, bars, a cinema, Shake Shack, Chili's, and other dining options within a 7-8 minute walk of the hotel. We felt comfortable walking around the area in the evenings. For anyone planning to visit the Statue of Liberty, we found it much more convenient to take a rideshare to Liberty State Park in New Jersey and board the ferry from there (tickets purchased in advance). The queues were noticeably shorter than those departing from Manhattan. After visiting Liberty Island, we took the ferry to Lower Manhattan and explored Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial, and the surrounding area. Overall, Hyatt Place Secaucus offered comfortable accommodation, friendly service, good transport links, and excellent value for money. I would happily stay here again when visiting the New York area.
