“Exceptional for this price point”

This Hampton Inn is very nice. Of course it has been recently updated so feels fresh but the space in the room and the amenities are very good. Breakfast is plentiful.

“Not up to a Hilton standard”

Conditoner empty. Lotion empty. Told reception. Nothing done. Toilet dirty.

At check-in, the agent told me that the hotel was under renovation. There is NO clearly visible mention of this on the brand website! At check-in, the agent told me that the hotel was under renovation. There is NO clearly visible mention of this on the brand website! I was not recognized as a Hilton Honors member, even though she looked up my number, so she clearly knew I was a member. The ‘Welcome’ rug at the entrance was very dirty. The concrete at the entrance is stained / dirty. Plants in pots at the entrance are dead. The lights in the elevator had dead bugs. There was a paper sign taped to the elevator that got ‘crunched’ every time the door opened/closed. The front desk agents (evening and overnight) parked their vehicles under the porte cochere, which prevents guests from fully using this area to load/unload luggage. The female front desk agent who checked me in had her white purse on the stool behind her and her white backpack on the floor beside the stool. From a guest’s view, it was an unprofessional/negative first impression. The breakfast area needed to be tidied up – chairs and stools were not neatly positioned. The decorative pillows on the benches were strewn around – not neatly organized. Did not see any staff members in uniform or wearing name tags.

I noticed my card was charged more than quoted price do I questioned it when checking out. They told me the tax rate change. It was only $8 but I feel the hotel should honor the price on my confirmation email. On a different note, after I do online reservations, I always call the hotel directly to make sure they know I’m traveling with a pet and ask for a first floor room near a door. This eliminates the possibility of an accident. So when I arrived here early, at 4pm, they couldn’t give me a first floor room near. Instead I’m on the 4th floor. Guess when dealing with Hampton Inn I should get it in writing
