We had the best girls weekend at the Sagamore for the Glacier Ice Bar weekend. We especially loved Gregory, the best Tito’s bartender at the ice bar!! He went above and beyond and made us some amazing Tito’s espresso martinis! Definitely will be back and would love to see Gregory again!

In October 2025, we enjoyed a pleasant few days at the Sagamore Resort. Because we visited mid-week when school is in session, there were minimal families present. Dinner our first night was at La Bella Vita. Unfortunately, there was a very large party in attendance. We were tucked against a wall off to the side, and felt like an afterthought all evening. Thankfully, breakfast more than made up for the lackluster first impression. The quality and quantity of the buffet selections were tremendous, and the service on both days was impeccable. BRGR Kitchen and Bar was the setting for dinner the following two evenings. It’s got a cozy pub vibe, with TVs showing sports the nights we were there. We walked the nature trail and spotted numerous deer, admired the croquet lawn, played mini-golf and cornhole at the Recreation Center, purchased souvenirs at the gift shop, and visited the evening bonfire. When booking your visit, be sure to carefully check the website. Although the hotel boasts 8 restaurants, most are open 7 days during the summer season but only weekends through the early fall. The same is true for The Morgan, the outdoor courts, the hotel tour, and movies. I hadn't realized this when we made our reservation. We had booked a Main Hotel Two Queens Lake View, but because of a water line problem in town and guests moving to the Lodge buildings rather than waiting for the repair, we were upgraded to a suite (by the time we had unpacked, the water was back on!). I love classic style properties, and the location of this resort is hard to beat. Some people might find it dated; I found it charming. The front desk personnel were welcoming, helpful and friendly. We encountered one of the Engineers as we were exploring the fitness center and indoor pool. He spent several minutes sharing knowledge and providing suggestions, all of which were very welcome. The young man who assisted us with our luggage when we arrived also was working at the Rec Center. I wish I’d gotten his name; he was so personable and helpful - honestly, he could work as a Brand Ambassador. Overall, I enjoyed our visit. We’ve discussed going back, but definitely would go sometime during ‘the season’, to take advantage of all of the amenities.

I booked a winter weekend at The Sagamore hoping for a quiet, relaxing escape. Unfortunately, it felt more like school recess inside a hundred year old building that was never designed with modern soundproofing in mind. The noise carried easily through the halls and floors, and what should have been a peaceful stay turned into something far more chaotic than expected. They could have also modernized the room when they converted to flat screens instead of leaving a huge opening in the wall. To their credit, the property was very clean throughout. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in maintaining the resort, and that shows. Management also made an effort to address my concerns, which I genuinely appreciated. That effort is the reason my rating is not lower. Dining was mixed. Dinner at La Bella Vita was disappointing, both in quality and overall experience. On the other hand, the Club Steakhouse was excellent and easily the highlight of the trip. The food and service there were exactly what you would expect from a resort of this reputation. Overall, the stay felt mediocre given the price point and expectations. While there were positives, the lack of quiet and consistency made it hard to fully enjoy the weekend. I do not see myself returning to the resort anytime soon.
