This hotel was perfect! The location was excellent and so was the hotel! It was clean and the staff went above and beyond. Samson was super helpful with getting our transportation set up to take us to the airport. He couldn’t have been nicer…also Diana and Karina were also so nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a clean and service oriented hotel with a great Midtown Location!

“Had Me A Real Good Time!”

The HGI Times Square North is located nicely for access to FOX, the Subway, Broadway shows, retail stores, and tons of food. The HGI Times Square North is located nicely for access to FOX, the Subway, Broadway shows, retail stores, and tons of food. There are so many food options within four/five blocks, that you can avoid the chain restaurants. If you consume alcohol, there is a pub out the front door and to the right; approximately thirty-seven steps. Any review you read pertaining to hotel noise is irrelevant. You are in New York City; you can only expect noise. The sounds of a monster size city, with eight million people is not going to be quiet. We did not hear noise from other rooms, we only heard New York outside our window. We did not eat at the restaurant, attach to the hotel, but there was a steady flow of customers every night. The hotel is super clean! We had the wheelchair shower in our room. We did need extra towels to block the water, from the rest of the bathroom floor, however, the staff was very accommodating in keeping us fully toweled. The Front Desk Staff was super polite. There are several guys, who are super knowledgeable, with directions and assistance, for visitors. For people with an income, New York City is very expensive. Moreover, I would say the hotel room rate we paid was reasonable, and a good value for the location, cleanliness, and hospitality. The exercise room is adequate for a short stay in the city, however, you can easily walk seven to ten miles just doing sightseeing activities; without riding the subway. The chance that I ever go to New York City again in my life is most likely below a 2% chance, however, I would stay at this specific hotel again.

“Unpleasantly Surprised”

I guess my expectations were too high after reading all the great reviews on TripAdvisor. I was immediately disappointed once I checked in. I checked in the day prior, and picked my room, only to arrive and find out they gave my room to someone else. So, not really a big deal until we got inside… more

I guess my expectations were too high after reading all the great reviews on TripAdvisor. I was immediately disappointed once I checked in. I checked in the day prior, and picked my room, only to arrive and find out they gave my room to someone else. So, not really a big deal until we got inside the room. Since there were 3 adults with two doubles, there was barely enough room to walk anywhere around the beds without hitting your knee on the footboard. There is an odd make-shift cabinet which holds the safe, very small fridge and microwave, and 7 hangers to hang clothes. There was two small shelves, each could hold a pair of shoes. Outside of that, one drawer to put undergarments, etc., between the beds. Oh, and a small drawer to put paper or pens in to. Our view was of the top of another building that had a mattress and pillow on top (I swear this was not a sequel to The Hangover movies.) The lobby and everything about this place was way too small. The location was ok, but not really close to the subway, which was a little difficult for my mother, or if I had small kids. Food nearby was the hotel's Italian, nearby a Brazilian, Japanese, and a pub, which were all expensive. They had a subway and pizza close by though. Anything else was a walk if you could find it. I've been an Honors member a long time, and was unpleasantly surprised with this hotel. I guess different strokes for different folks.
