“A little disappointed, but I'd stay here again”

I would love to rate this as excellent, but I can't quite get there. I lived in NYC for 10 years, and it's always nice to go back. I wanted to attend an off-Broadway show, and a friend recently stayed here and recommended it. He said he thought he got upgraded. (He did.) The positives: Tolerable pricing for a New York City hotel. (I stayed on Saturday and Sunday.) My King room was a decent size for NYC. The bed was comfortable. The TV worked. The bathroom / shower was clean. The location was great for my needs. They let me check in 2 hours early with no additional fee. I was aware of the fees, and the final bill was exactly what I expected. The negatives, which are fairly minor, but worth noting. My room, 101, had a wall that was almost entirely a mirror. The top couple of feet were clear, looking over the lobby, I think, then looking over another window. I could see some light, but there was no window. I did see one I thought I could open. The view was an internal staircase with cleaning supplies. I didn't really NEED a window, but I would've preferred a room with one. There wasn't much outside noise, but the squeaky elevator and other internal noises would've been very distracting if I hadn't brought a white noise machine with me. The hot water pot didn't work. I asked the woman at the desk about it. She didn't know why. Maybe they would've replaced it if I asked. I didn't. It's New York; coffee is everywhere. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. I just wouldn't stay in this room unless it was a bargain.

“Nice experience but check the bill before you leave!”

Great location to subway or walk everywhere, very clean, comfortable beds. It's a little "shabby" and small (as are all NYC hotel rooms) but perfect for 2 double beds with a view. Great location to subway or walk everywhere, very clean, comfortable beds. It's a little "shabby" and small (as are all NYC hotel rooms) but perfect for 2 double beds with a view. Appreciated the little toiletries, mini fridge, water and coffee in the room. NOTE: Read your folio upon checkout, and don't leave until it's correct. I asked for the $30 a day (x 3 days) fee to be removed as we didn't use any facilities except the front door and the elevator. There was no breakfast, no mention of any "extras" at check in, so we would have never even known IF there were amenities. The desk clerk said she'd have the manager credit the $90 back to us. After many emails and phone calls, 3 weeks later a $45 credit appeared. Again, 2 more phone calls (staff was very nice and said they'd get the manager to take care of it) and now, over 2 months after my stay, still no credit of the remaining $45. So, enjoy your room, but get everything taken care (and watch the room rate as it fluctuates for no real reason) before you leave.

“Good and not so good”

We stayed three nights in a balcony room but were upgraded to the penthouse. The view was wonderful but it had a high concrete parapet wall so you can't see over it when seated. Lower balconies have glass parapets. Pros:The price was right and the location, fabulous. The area has gentrified. Lots of funky shops and restaurants. Close to the subway. The staff were friendly and everything was clean. I loved the chandelier in the foyer. One mile walk to Prince St. shops. Chanel, LV, Coach etc.... Cons: All the soft finishes need to be steam cleaned or replaced (but the owners know that). The elevator is gross. Carpet, bedding, drapes, etc are tired. Bathroom is tiny. No premium channels. Cheap K-cups.
