The Waldorf Astoria NYC is a crown jewel amongst a sea of options in NYC! Truly a magnificent and worth the wait reopening restoration of an iconic piece of New York City history. To start with- I have met some of the most wonderful and professional people who are part of the team at this property. I stay a 75+ days a year in NYC and I can assure you that the lovely and caring people who are there at The Waldorf will make you feel welcome and right at home. DAKOTA W. in Reservations is an exceptional example of how a single person in the larger picture of hospitality can make or break a guest’s experience. Dakota has gone above and beyond for our last few stays and is truly a ray of sunshine in the already shiny and beautiful picture of this newly restored hotel. His level of customer care is the best I have had the good fortune to experience!! I applaud and appreciate the manner in which he shows genuine hometown hospitality. Additionally, Patricio, the hotel manager, is top notch and a fantastic example of leadership for this flagship property. Clearly, the top down approach to customer care and management is taken seriously. Patricio was friendly and very present to guests - which is not always the case in New York City and at a hotel of this size. His ability to engage with guests and make personal connections speaks to a larger picture of what this specific location is meant to be for those who have the opportunity to stay here. Furthermore, from the front door to the front desk, I found many people to be helpful, extremely knowledgeable about the property and the city and a cut above what you typically find even at other high end and luxury hotels. Add in the luxuriously appointed art deco style of the rooms, the historic and elegant spaces throughout the property to serve as a respite from the busy city and you get the EXCEPTIONAL and unrivaled experience of what is the newly reopened Waldorf Astoria!

My husband and I had a one-night stay at the Waldorf before enjoying a Broadway play. It was absolute perfection from the service to the details in the room. There was clearly a lot of attention to detail during the renovation. Kudos to them! In addition, we enjoyed our meals at both Lex Yard and Peacock Alley. We've stayed at a few 5-star hotels in NYC, including the Park Hyatt during the same week. The Waldorf is, by far, our favorite. We will absolutely be back!

We stayed recently and I have enjoyed attending events here years ago. The hotel itself is gorgeous with elegant, art deco decor throughout the grounds, particularly in the lobby and peacock alley. The lobby itself and halls are filled with such lovely touches like framed photos from the 1950's and encased pottery. The hotel also gave my kids a really lovely candy welcome gift. The gym itself is large with waters placed at each machine. But as a Diamond member, I did not feel like the service was excellent or luxurious. It felt snobby. Some of my other favorite hotels include the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi and Park Hyatt Niseko; the service level at those hotels truly anticipates your needs while being attentive and warm. My check in-experience was slow for several reasons. 3 staff were helping one customer in front of me and no one bothered monitoring any queue until 10 minutes later. This first impression was not a great one though the front desk staff was helpful. I waited at reception another time, but it was early with fewer staff available when I was looking for the gym. There were also other small lapses like not clearly stating the specific elevator bank of the gym on the app or any printed materials. Any sign would have helped. These small issues are not a dealbreaker. The hotel itself is lovely. But I just didn't feel the warm or attentive level of service as is befitting this type of hotel. I have already communicated these items to the hotel and do appreciate their follow-up now.
