“Clean and good priced hotel with free breakfast and parking”

Stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip to office 5 mins away. Price was good, free breakfast and no parking charge for a car. The rooms were spacious for just me and all the workers were friendly and helpful. No issues during the stay. Breakfast area was never crowded and had different 2 hot dish… more

Stayed here for 3 nights for a work trip to office 5 mins away. Price was good, free breakfast and no parking charge for a car. The rooms were spacious for just me and all the workers were friendly and helpful. No issues during the stay. Breakfast area was never crowded and had different 2 hot dish each day. Could also make waffles or have hot oatmeal and cereals. Quick in and out. I will say the hallways were pretty warm to walk down. Otherwise was good hotel to call home. Would stay here again when I’m back in area for work trip.

We had a really enjoyable stay at the SpringHill Suites Charlotte University Research Park (8700 Research Drive). The staff was super friendly and welcoming—exactly the kind of service that makes you feel like more than just a reservation number. Our room was perfect for our little crew: my son claimed the sofa bed like it was his new apartment, and my daughter loved the trundle bed tucked underneath—she called it her “secret hideout.” Everything was clean and well-stocked, though it seemed like housekeeping might’ve missed us one night. Still, the place was tidy and fresh overall. Breakfast was complimentary and solid. Waffles, eggs, and a nice variety that made it easy to fuel up before heading out. The space stayed clean, even with the morning rush, and coffee was available all day—which, let’s be honest, is a gift. Now, if you're looking to squeeze in a workout, the fitness room gets the job done—but just barely. One treadmill, one elliptical, one stationary bike, and a modest set of dumbbells with a few medicine balls. No strength machines, and no pool. But hey, they do provide towels so you can wipe off the sweat and pretend you were at a high-end gym. For the walkers and runners: Research Drive isn't exactly pedestrian-friendly—no sidewalks and not much shoulder. But here's a pro tip: cross the street and loop around the EPRI and Fox Sports building parking lots. Just be sure to finish your workout before employees start arriving, unless you want to be part of someone’s Monday morning HR report. Oh—and it’s 688 feet above sea level, so enjoy that hill climb while catching your breath. A headlamp or flashlight doesn’t hurt if you're heading out early! All in all, this was a comfortable, well-located stay that worked great for our family. We'd definitely return—especially now that we’ve mastered the parking lot fitness trail!
