So, here is the truth. We have visited here twice this summer(2025), once in June, once in July. Everything is clean, the staff is so friendly AND they provide a wonderful buffet breakfast that comes with homemade waffles. The prices of rooms are well within a traveling family's reach. The hotel is located in a centralized location and if you have time, visit The Secret Garden and Grandma's Garden!

“Great staff. Every store imaginable is within a mile”

The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Especially the check in clerk (who seems to do many jobs there). I wish I'd got her name. It’s a decent sized room and has a massive bathroom. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Especially the check in clerk (who seems to do many jobs there). I wish I'd got her name. It’s a decent sized room and has a massive bathroom. It had a wide counter to make getting ready really easy. It also had a walk-in shower which is great. I think they do an ok job maintaining the place, but there are things here and there that need more attention for it to be considered a great hotel. For an example, our toilet paper holder was barely attached to the wall. Also, the bathroom door was very challenging to lock. The side table was very wobbly. The pool steps had caution tape on them. Stuff like that. With respect, the maintenance standards of this property need to fall in line with that of customer service’s, which is excellent. That being said, none of it was bad enough I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, it’s just some suggestions on what they could improve. One thing that is unacceptable is the condition of the pull-out couches. They are utterly uncomfortable. We had two rooms and they were equally as uncomfortable. It’s not uncommon for families to require these, so this is something that should not be neglected in my opinion and is a real shame. For their part, housekeeping seems to be doing a decent job. The room was clean. Maybe a tiny bit more attention could be paid attention to corners, nooks and crannies…but it felt pretty clean overall.

As a retired hotel mystery shopper I look for things that others may not so if there's TMI, scroll on down. Here are the pros: -Hotel staff was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. -Library/snack/game room on second floor: TV, comfortable furnishings, books to read while you're there. However, there was no take-one-leave-one option. -Stairwells were clean, well lit, and unobstructed, contributing to the safety perceived here. -Breakfast was quite tasty, with a signature breakfast sandwich created at this hotel. -The TV was easy to use. -Daily housekeeping! So many hotels make you ask for service despite higher costs of rooms. However, the toilet was not cleaned during the housekeeping visit, and some food items in a bag atop the fridge were thrown away when I wasn't actually finished with them. - The pool. The pool was small but comfortable, and neatly arranged. All safety equipment was present, although the two noted deficiencies were - in-pool depth markings were faded/worn off and the metal edging around the pool was broken and showed a gap at the deep end. In addition, the pool warning sign was largely irrelevant to the size and area of the pool considering there was no runway, no restrooms, no hot tub, etc. Negatives were as follows: --There were no makeup remover towelettes. -The toilet seat was not tight or centered; it moved (a lot!) when sat on and the cheap plastic seat seemed about to break. The toilet ran for a long time after flushing. There were no hand towel racks in the bathroom, so wet hand towels had to just sit on the counter without opportunity to dry out. - I received two early "Welcome!" messages offering options but in response to my two requests I was told that the they couldn't remove the comforter from the bed ahead of my stay, and that a private parking spot was available only FCFS, even though offered as a choice in the welcome email. -On checkout day, housekeeping knocked well before checkout time even though I had not checked out. In addition, the room key was deactivated before checkout time as well.
