Arriving at check-in, the self check-in wasn’t working, so I had to go to the front desk instead. I did feel like I waited a while to be helped, and I had to clarify my own charges when I was asked to pay additional amounts, which was a little frustrating. This was my daughter’s birthday trip and our first time at Great Wolf Lodge, so I had gotten the birthday package for her. Walking into the room and seeing the decorations already set up on the door and inside the room was such a great surprise for her and honestly made the trip feel extra special right away. The room itself was clean. I noticed I didn’t have shampoo, and the bedsheets had some rips in them. After letting Willow know, I immediately got a call to the room saying they were on their way with shampoo and could also change the sheets. I thought that was really impressive customer service. When they arrived, they actually brought extras of everything too, which was super appreciated. For GWL being absolutely packed, I was honestly surprised at how manageable everything felt. The elevators never had a terrible wait getting on or off, and overall the resort seemed very well maintained. Considering it’s an indoor water park with constant traffic, everything was in really good condition. The daily/nightly activities were also really nice, especially with little ones. My daughter had so much fun the entire stay. We had the pizza one night and it was SO good. We also tried the breakfast buffet one morning. It was a little more expensive than I would’ve liked — about $40 for myself and my daughter — but the food was really good with a ton of options. One downside was that on the second day I requested all bedding be changed. I was told housekeeping would be notified, but it unfortunately never got done. The lifeguards at the water park honestly deserve recognition. They almost seemed like robots with how focused and consistent they were. I caught myself watching them a lot because of how attentive they stayed with all the walking back and forth, hand signals, arm movements, and constant scanning. 10/10 for safety awareness. It does kind of suck having to pay $20 per night for parking, BUT the wristbands being able to work as room keys, payment methods, and parking access made everything so convenient. My daughter was even able to use her wristband to get into the room herself, which honestly gave me a lot of peace of mind and made things easier. Checkout was also super easy. Overall, 10/10 experience. We can’t wait to come back!

Overall the experience is getting better because the rooms are more updated without carpet. However the cleaning crew needs to be more thorough. We had to have our room switched due to a lock being broken but the new room had black hair all over the bathroom floor, plus the sheets seemed like they were just wiped off because there was definitely a mascara smudge on a pillow. Then I found the same long black hair in the bed that was on the bathroom floor. This is why I take lysol to everything. Overall the kids loved the experience. Other than a subpar room, we had a great experience with the staff. The key fobs are hit or miss with parking and returning towels so double check that too.
