After a long day of delayed flights and travel, I arrived at The Ritz-Carlton, Portland only to find that, due to what seemed to be a miscommunication, my room had been downgraded without me being informed. Front Desk Agent Moises was absolutely fantastic. He took the time to explain what had happened, was incredibly professional, and did everything he could to help. The next day, I spoke with the manager, Frank, who was equally professional and explained the situation. Thanks to Frank and Adrianna, who was able to move some things around behind the scenes, I was able to get back into the room I had originally booked which was an AMAZING spacious King Executive Suite. While the mix-up wasn't ideal, it's how the team handled it that truly impressed me. Huge thanks to Moises, Adrianna, and for their professionalism, kindness, and outstanding customer service. They turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a great one. The Ritz-Carlton, Portland is a beautiful property, thats VERY clean, peaceful, quiet and has a world class gym and pool. I want to say thanks to this incredible team, I'll absolutely be staying here every time I'm in Portland.

“Great Hotel but check your bill for mistakes.”

We were hoping for an email from Marriott/Ritz Carlton asking about our experience and stay at the hotel but have not received one yet so posting here instead. The hotel and rooms are lovely with incredible views . We stayed there over Mother’s Day weekend and were really disappointed that the only options for breakfast (after 9 am) on Mothers day was the Mothers Day Brunch for $180 per person. OR room Service . It would have been nice to have a few other options . Also make Sure to review your bills when you check out. We were charged valet parking but had no car and the bar upstairs added a $78 gratuity on a bill for 2 glasses of Wine . Maybe it was just a mistake but it would have gone through if we didn’t catch it . We enjoyed the bar downstairs much more than the bar upstairs . The bartenders up there were not as friendly as they were downstairs at the lobby bar.

I have stayed at the Portland Ritz since its opening several years ago. I have also stayed at most of the other Portland luxury hotels over the past 10 years. I am a loyal Ritz guest across the world, but it just seems as if this beautiful property cannot get things right. The facility, location, restaurant and amenities are all excellent. They seem to have management issues that have persisted since opening. Housekeeping is inconsistent based on days when my room was not cleaned and a day when there were 12 trays outside of various doors at 3 PM...on just my floor. The front desk is at times unreachable via phone, requiring guests to literally go to the lobby to get their questions answered. All of the above are consistent experiences on my prior visits. It is understandable that a new property may have "start up" issues, but the issued referenced above are now persistent for several years. I hope they can finally address

I typically love the Ritz brand hotels and this one particularly, but I fear the quality is already slipping. My partner and I stayed there this weekend as an anniversary staycation and some of what you would expect from the Ritz wasn’t there. First there were a pair of socks left from the last guest was left in our room. An unfortunate oversight but something we could look past. We then noticed our room only had one robe so we called down for another so we could head to the pool. While we expected the usual attentive service, it was almost 40 minutes for a simple robe to arrive. Once down at the pool, it was FREEZING. I had known they kept their pool cool but when everyone is gathered in the hot tub and the pool stays relatively empty, that should be a tell. I wanted to love this hotel as I did in the past, but it unfortunately feels average not elevated now.
