We had heard about this hotel from a friend of ours. It was beyond anything we could have imagined and in a wonderful way. Our room was tucked away by the exit stairs, so nice and quiet. We were able to check in early, an unexpected surprise. Spotless in cleanliness and plenty of room for our things. Just remember the closets back in the old days were tiny, so back accordingly. There was a bit of an issue with some guests on Friday and security was to take care of it and kept the noise level down. They were right on it. From the rooms, to the food in the hotel, to the coffee, to the staff and more, just delightful. Staff, from valets to front desk to wait staff and more, were friendly and engaging. We are planning another trip there. You will not be disappointed.

I love Hotel B. I have stayed there approx 8 times over the last 2 years when traveling from SC to PA to visit family. I sometimes travel alone and the location is comfortable and convenient. The garage seems secure and well lit, but I haven’t seen a bellman after 11 (my flight always comes in late) so it makes me nervous to have to park and walk up to the hotel without anyone being around. The hotel is gorgeous. Holidays are especially lovely, and the rooms are well appointed. As a seasoned traveler, I find the beds comfy and although a traditional double room can be small, it’s nice. What I find troubling is their heating system. I’m told often that it’s an “old hotel” so during the winter there is ONLY heat, and during the summer ONLY air. So if you get warm days in spring, the heat continues. And it can be hot in the room. I have been there a number of times during their “transition” and the only option is to get a fan brought to the room or open the window. And if you have a room on the south end or back, you will hear trains and their horns blowing at night if the windows are open. Again, I’ve made it work and they have been apologetic, but I’m just being honest. One time it got to 90 degrees in the room. This last time, 75. And lastly, I find the food delicious, with attentive staff in the evenings and top notch bartenders. Breakfast is a bit different. I went to have breakfast at 9:15 on a Sunday. I was told, reluctantly, that they could seat me but I had to eat and leave within 45 min. I then found out the buffet started at 10 and my breakfast had to be over by then so they could have the table for someone else. And I was a paying guest that was staying with them for 4 nights. Meanwhile the male server barely waited on us. It took 10 minutes to just get coffee and part of the meal was not correct. When we tried to correct it with him he argued with us, finally bringing us what we ordered. Maybe an off day, but not a great way to end my stay. All in all, I’ll still go back. But just being honest. Should be easy fixes for everything but the heating / air situation.
