I stayed at this hotel during the month of October for work. I found it to clean with courteous, friendly staff. Housekeeping was great and very accommodating. I stayed at this hotel during the month of October for work. I found it to clean with courteous, friendly staff. Housekeeping was great and very accommodating. The area of the hotel was within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping and the Monroeville Mall. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The best part was Natalie Harrison. She works mornings at the desk and is the greatest. She will approach you as she sees you and is quick to ask if you how you are doing and if there is anything she can provide to make your stay more enjoyable. She is quick to offer her extensive knowledge of the area advising on the best places to eat, the must-see attractions, and the best places for self-care such as salons and nail care. She is attentive and learns what you like. For me it was coffee. As soon as she would see me come down for work, she would go over to the Bistro and make me a cup coffee just like liked it. She is an integral part of this hotel and imo she should be given a promotion to manager. I cannot thank her enough for kindness during my stay.

From the less than friendly front desk attendant to the post-construction room, this Marriott leaves a lot to be desired. Here's a few things that other family members experienced from other rooms in the hotel. - Poor lighting. I get that overhead lights are not possible in rooms like this, but the sparse lighting can only be described as 'accent' lighting. Not bright enough where you need it, and more of an attempt at business style over function. -Slapdash construction. We had a post new construction room. Here's what that meant for our room: 1. Leaky shower door that made a mess all over the bathroom floor. 2. Sink that wouldn't seal- just couldn't hold water due to the fact that the drain attachment was not installed properly. 3. Bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. Door was hinge bound. This is carpentry 101, and the door was visibly damaged from before construction. 4. Another guest in our party had water issues, but did the hotel do anything to make up for this at all? No, not even a X% off next stay voucher or anything, for that matter. -Pseudo upgrade. 1. Window gasket was all bunched up and no way to crack the window. Even if the windows aren't meant to be opened at all, this was an obvious deliberate miss. 2. Heat/AC system. Why on earth wouldn't you have a wall mounted thermostat? It's either heat, a/c, or off, and you have to do that with a well worn switch that was on its last leg that was mounted under a door on the unit. Even Comfort Inns that have renovated use wall mounted thermostats. 3. Weirdly designed, uncomfortable rooms. Who are these rooms made for exactly? They are far from comfortabe, and combined with the aforementioned poor lighting, can only be described as business class frigid, except there's no comfortable chair or desk to work at. -Professionalism. I've never had such a cold greeting and lack of cooperation from front desk staff. I won't mention names, or sex, but let's just say that the demeanor fit the label above. Marriott, before you respond with your standard lines of 'we're sorry you experienced a less than fabulous stay', how about trying, just a little more? You've lost this customer, and a few more from our party for life, and we won't be looking back.
