I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown for three nights in December 2025. I chose to stay at this hotel not only for the location but also because it had been recently refurbished. Upon arrival we were checked in and given a room straight away, we were also given a voucher for a free hot drink at the local Christmas markets that were taking place nearby to the hotel. The room was a twin room on the 6th floor overlooking Arch Street and the Municipal Services Building opposite. The room was very comfortable and large in size with two beds, a desk area, sizable wardrobe, and a bathroom with a shower/tub combo. The heating/aircon system worked incredibly well in the winter chill, keeping the room a comfortable temperature. Power points were found on the desk and on the bedside table embedded into the lamp. Due to the older design of the building, the windows do allow noise in so there is a little traffic noise in rush hour from Arch Street, but I had no trouble sleeping at night. Breakfast was included in the rate we purchased; it is not a buffet style but made to order. There is a monetary limit on the voucher given, and you can order anything off the menu up to that price and then pay the difference if over. I very much enjoyed the breakfast here as well as the service from the staff in the restaurant. Getting to/from the hotel was fairly easy. My traveling companion and I arrived by Amtrak from Washington D.C. into 30th Street Station, and took SEPTA from there to City Hall. The hotel is only a short walk from here. There are plenty of SEPTA rail and bus services in this area as well so public transportation is very very easy. On the return, given the early hour of the morning, we took an Uber back to the station which took less than 10mins. The area surrounding the hotel is vibrant, especially in winter when the Christmas markets are on. This hotel is very close to City Hall, and there are a number of places to eat within walking distance from the hotel as well as some convenience stores as well for snacks and drinks. There is a shopping mall within a 15min walk from the hotel. Depending on how much you like to walk, various city centre attractions are found within walking distance but many can be accessed by public transport as well. I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel; the staff were fantastic and the modern rooms comfortable. The location was amazing and it was easy to move around the city. When next in Philadelphia I will certainly look at staying here again.

I was looking for a "reasonably priced," well-reviewed hotel near the Convention Center for a trip to the Flower Show. I was satisfied with my choice. The (two bed) room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, climate control in the room was excellent and quiet. The hotel is very close to the Convention Center so I could return to the room for a rest at mid-day. The room was clean, and the service desk people were helpful and polite. Security seemed good with a doorman and keycard access to elevator from lobby. One amenity that is not mentioned on their website is the microwave for guest use in the same room as the ice machine, a plus for me. Value was acceptable for me with AAA promotion and discount including breakfast; YMMV. The only downside for me was that the decor of the room could best be described as "moody;" greige walls, floors and dark furniture, and subdued lighting. The light at the desk was ok and light in the bath also ok. The towels were thin and scratchy, but there were enough of them so not a problem.
