We stayed for Valentine’s weekend and had a great time staying here. Emma at the front desk, Randi at breakfast service (she is so warm and funny), and Alan at the bar - they all provided EXCELLENT and super friendly service the entire weekend. The building is historic and you feel that. The lobby of the building could feel more warm or festive, but the hotel lobby on the 25th floor is comfortable and modern. Location was great, but outside feels a bit gritty. Parking is off site but the price is not terrible for downtown. The room we stayed in faced the river (off in the distance), plenty of space, and very very quiet. The only bad thing that happened was someone’s dog peed (a lot) in front of the elevators. I called the front desk at 10pm and told them about it. When I went to breakfast the next morning, the entire hall smelled like urine. I told Emma at the front desk, and it was mopped up within 15 minutes.

One night stay with my daughter and wife for the Pittsburgh Marathon 5K. Overall a good stay with a few quirks. My digital key was not sent to me after my app check-in and I had to stop by the front desk for a physical key. My digital key started working just before checkout. The lobby and front desk is located on the 25th floor of this historic building. The evening reception and breakfast are also located on the 25th floor. The room was “mostly” clean with plenty of room. The furniture was newer and not beat up. There was something wrapped in tin foil still in the mini refrigerator There was also a plastic restaurant bag stuffed by the room coffee maker. The room had a great view of downtown Pittsburgh. I asked for a one hour delayed check-out, 12, noon instead of 11 AM, but the property could not honor my request. Two shoutouts: The evening reception bar tender is awesome! I wish I got his name. He was genuinely kind to every person he poured for and we enjoyed talking with him very much. The omelette chef on Saturday morning is also awesome. Engaging and I enjoyed talking with him and the omelette was delicious. My daughter and I enjoyed the pool. The water was a bit cloudy and there were several clumps of hair floating in the water. I would not hesitate to stay at this location again. The location is prime with a 12 minute walk to the convention center, 15 minute walk to PNC Park and 13 minute walk to Point State Park. There are many restaurants close to the hotel. For the most part, my family felt safe walking the sidewalks around the property. We parked across the street where parking in the garage cost $30 for 24 hours.

Let’s get the negatives out the way first! Room next to lift so there is a permanent sound of an overhead airplane as the lifts are in use. (Quieter through the night as less traffic) toilet not flushing & phone not working & blinds broken. Now the positives. Lovely comfortable beds. Ideal space for a family. Nice breakfast. Would I stay here again? Not sure. The rooms are very dated. The housekeeping needs to be more thorough but the size of the suite suits our needs.
