Couldn’t be happier with this hotel. Check-in was a breeze, staff was extremely friendly and accommodating as I had to get a package shipped, which they held for me at the front desk. The room was great, very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. Probably the best part of the trip was Tamika, who runs the breakfast. She is absolutely fantastic, and made the start to every day great. Breakfast was fully stocked and a great variety. Obviously super convenient if you’re going to a game, but even if not, will be my go to place from now on when I’m in Pittsburgh for business.

The stay was fine and it was worth some of the negatives for the sake of the convenient location and private parking lot. Worth mentioning that depending on where your room is, baseball stadium lights will light your room up all night and there is heavy construction next door, including an early morning crane. Pros: -Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Tamika who is an absolute gem -Complimentary breakfast was well stocked and fresh -Great location for the stadium and very walkable for anywhere on the North Shore -Pool was nice although maybe a little over chlorinated as we all left with red eyes but better than the opposite problem, I guess Cons: -The bathroom faucet leaked and ran at a steady stream the entire time. It was hot water so if the bathroom door was shut (which it was because the toilet ran loudly all the time), the whole bathroom would turn into a sauna. Probably explains some of the mold spots on the ceiling too. -Two towels per room. We are a family of 4. I use two towels alone for my hair and body. Don’t love sharing towels and we had to return our used ones before we could get fresh towels -Arrived at check-in time and had to wait over an hour for our room. Front desk staff they didn’t have enough clean rooms with two queen beds ready. When we finally got in, there was no toilet paper, no shampoo and no body wash Overall, it’s clearly a very heavily booked hotel in need of pretty extensive updates and repairs. None of the issues were a dealbreaker where we felt we couldn’t stay by any means. It certainly did the trick for a long weekend trip, but would probably choose a different hotel for future visits.

First date with my wife 20 plus years ago was a Pirates game and as a sort of tradition we have gone back every year since even though we live 6hrs away. Several times we have stayed at this hotel. This stay started off extremely unpleasant as we got stuck in the elevator for over 5 minutes, the door would open about an inch then shut, and the elevator would not move at all. Eventually the door just totally shut and stayed shut. We had to hit the call button on the elevator panel and I feel like the person who answered the call handled it poorly. She put me on hold to where I heard elevator music, while actually stuck in the elevator. After a few minutes, she did check back in with us and state someone was on their way but then back to being on hold. The lady works there and this may happen often but you should realize the customer may not experience this regularly and be a bit more compassionate, not just roll back to handling the next check in. Panic starts to set in pretty quick when that door is shut and nothing is happening. No clue if you are going to be in there 5 more minutes or 5 more hours. The room itself is ok. The living room/TV area is pretty nice, the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was not great. Its very small and the tub looked very aged. I am a bit fitness guy and use this one each year. I would say it is on par for what you would get at other hotel chains. I also like the onsite restaurant, pretty good menu, so post game you can grab a bit more to eat/drink and its a quick trip back to the room. Not a huge fan of the parking situation, it is a pretty tight fit, exp if you have a larger profile vehicle. The room is not worth the price you pay to stay here on game days, but I still pay it most years because its about 10 steps from the ball park, pay mainly for convenience. We also stayed at a hotel years ago across the bridge and had a brief safety concern walking back after the game, so another reason why we stay here most years. Not sure at this time if during next year's game we will stay here. Might be time to look elsewhere.
