My husband and I stayed for the Pirates home opener weekend. The Priory is within easy walking distance to PNC Park, and with the nice weather it was a welcome stroll. Hotel transport to and from the game was also available, but we elected to walk. The hotel itself is very charming and has a warm, welcoming vibe. The rooms are small but very comfortable. Everywhere you look you can see the history throughout the building, from the creaky floors in the rooms to the ornate details inside and outside the building. The Monk’s Bar offered a refreshing respite after exciting baseball games. The Sinners and Smoke cocktail is highly recommended and a great way to unwind after a game. I guarantee you will sleep well! The Priory staff are amazing and I would match them up against any big name chain hotel! Bottom line, stay at the Priory! We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful getaway weekend!

This hotel is a 5-bubble property in every respect but one. On the plus side, this property has character. The rooms are somewhat modest by modern standards, but I like that. After all, this was a German Catholic Benedictine monastery long ago. You feel like you've stepped into the distant past with the antique furniture, hardwood interiors, and very old wall decor (old in a good way). I felt like this is where my grandfather or great-grandfather would have stayed on a business trip to Pittsburgh a century or more ago. Made me nostalgic for a time before I was even born, ha. The A/C works very well. There is a safe, but no mini-fridge. The bed is comfortable enough, and there are ample outlets. I didn't realize that my reservation came with a boxed breakfast, which was nice. I believe every reservation includes a boxed breakfast in the morning. The walk into downtown proper is an easy 10-minute stroll across one of the bridges. I probably wouldn't personally walk back from downtown to the hotel past 10PM, but everyone kept assuring me that it was safe. The baseball and football stadiums are also pretty easy walking distance, as is the downtown arts district. The only downside is that in some (many? all?) of the rooms the shower in the room beside yours makes a shockingly loud sound when someone is bathing. It sounds about like a jet preparing to take off. I was lucky that the person beside me only woke me up once showering at 6AM and then kept me up the next night showering around 9:30PM. Whatever the case, there will be no sleep when the person beside you is showering. I say this as someone who is a heavy sleeper and wears ear plugs! Overall, if you can deal with the loud shower sound, you will have a great experience here. The staff were all pleasant.

“Stay Number 18. !”

Another visit with our group of Design Industry Partners for a trade event. Nicole at the front desk is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Staff is always accommodating, rooms are so clean and beds uber comfy! Sad that our favorite bartender is gone !
