I had an excellent stay here. I have Bonvoy Gold status and Kristen Crosier at guest relations contacted a few days before my stay and offered me a room upgrade. They gave me wonderful 2 room suite (room 1715). Aside from that I had 2 separate reservations and they were kind enough to combine them and not move rooms even though the hotel was full. The staff go above and beyond and that made for a great stay.

“Convienient City Location”

I stayed at the Westin in September and October this year. On my first stay, the room clean, but the safe had been left open in the locked position and the bathroom sink was slow to drain. I stayed at the Westin in September and October this year. On my first stay, the room clean, but the safe had been left open in the locked position and the bathroom sink was slow to drain. My first morning the toilet overflowed. Maintenance quickly responded and took care of all three problems. My second visit I couldn't get the door open. Once more prompt assistance, the problem mine, there was a need to grab the handle in the middle and push. Check in staff pleasant and efficient. The room clean. On my second stay the coffee tray had no tea or sugar or creamer. The bathroom well stocked with towels and toiletries, there is a drying line in the tub, hairdryer, makeup mirror. The closet had ample hangers, iron and ironing board, safe. The bed comfortable; of the Pittsburgh Marriott properties I've stayed in, the Westin and the Sheraton have the most comfortable beds. There was an upholstered chair and small coffee table, a desk, a large TV. This hotel is well located for the Convention Center, the Cultural District, Heinz History Center, and a block from Amtrak. There is a Starbucks and Bill's Burgers in the complex and several restaurants within a block on Penn. Also on Penn outside the hotel's entrance is a stop for the Pittsburgh Tour Company's Hop On Hop Off bus. Even though I know the tour spiel by heart I enjoy taking the bus around the city and do so each time I visit. The rooms could use some updating, but depending on the purpose of my visit this hotel more than fits the bill.

I came to this hotel after leaving a different hotel in Pittsburgh. The Westin was far superior to the other hotel. However, it was not a perfect stay. Pros: - excellent customer service. The front desk staff were fabulous. - close to train station - large clean rooms Cons: - the rooms are extremely dated and have a very strong fragrance - breakfast had limited variety (buffet only and no menu to order from) - the neighborhood felt unsafe at night. There appeared to be many people under the influence of drugs and a very violent fight broke out. The police had to come out. I would stay again if I had another event at the convention centre but I would avoid walking on Liberty street.
