We had a nice stay here while visiting union college. It’s a convenient location within walking distance to union - just 15 mins. Beds are comfortable, the rooms are big, the staff is very friendly, breakfast is good. There was a table in our room but no chair, which would have been helpful. Bathrooms are clean and big with a big counter and hooks for towels, but the water pressure is low and towels are small. We didn’t go swimming but the pool and hot tub looked nice.

This is a large Hampton, close to Proctor's Theater, Amtrak, restaurants in downtown Schenectady. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Usual Hampton breakfast, but not quite as many selections as some. Reasonable rates. Two nits: Front desk does not have maps or brochures of downtown area. Also, like many cities, Schenectady has its share of panhandlers downtown. Nothing aggressive or troublesome. Just say no and you'll have no problems.

Felicia in the dining area is extremely friendly and helpful. She approaches people with kindness and a smile. You are lucky to have her. Raven at the front desk is friendly and helpful. She answered questions with a smile.

The location is amazing, free parking, hot tub, free breakfast and walking distance to all the great shops and restaurants. The front desk was rude, one key stopped working, they fixed it but the next day it stopped working again, fortunately, my husband's app opens the door but when he was away, the key cards were very unreliable. We stay here annually and they changed their policy now to only cleaning the rooms every other day - they never told us upon check in so I asked why my room wasn't cleaned and front desk rudely said she would have someone clean and nobody every came nor did they come the next day, finally the 3rd night of our 4 night stay, they cleaned sometime late in the afternoon and it was dirtier than we left it. crumbs everywhere and streaks on the desk from having dinner there on the first night were still visible. pillows were not properly in the cases, mattress showing and all the pillows and top blanket were left on the chair where we put it, lotion was never refilled - was empty when we checked in. It was the laziest room cleaning I ever experienced in my 24 years of traveling all over the US mostly staying and Hilton hotels - by the way we are Hilton honors gold members. All upholstery was dirty in the entire hotel and rugs all had crumbs, seems like cleanliness isn't that important to them here. The only bright light in my stay was Felicia - she took great care of cleaning the coffee and breakfast areas and checking on guests , I never had service like that before, she even helped guests make waffles if they needed or throw out their garbage. She made our stay better and was very friendly. She needs to train the front desk on how to be friendly. She alone is the reason I might come back, but this hotel really needs to get better at cleaning if they want to justify their high room rate for "cleaning" every other day - if you're lucky.
