Location: Located in the Charleston Historic District, this hotel is the only antebellum residence in the area, restored from an 1860 railroad warehouse. It is located in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the Charleston Museum. Guests can visit the legendary Fort Sumter, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired; and the USS Yorktown in Patriot's Point, located in nearby Mt. Pleasant. The hotel also provides guests with easy access to the Gibbes Museum of Art and the American Military Museum. To get in touch with nature and wildlife, guests can visit the South Carolina Aquarium or Angel Oak, a 1,400-year-old oak tree.

“A Stellar Stay at the Hampton - Historic Charleston”
What a wonderful place! Life isn't perfect - our stay got off to a bit of a rocky start - and that's usually when things go north or way south. “Conveniently located, helpful staff, not ideal parking.”
Justin was super helpful with planning activities in the area. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and all it offers. The only issue we had was parking. The garage for the hotel has a height limit of 7 feet which didn't accommodate our vehicle. We were directed to a parking lot se… more
