Our anniversary stay at The Restoration Hotel was absolutely unforgettable. We were booked into the Grand Two Bedroom Suite with Private Terrace, and it was hands down the most beautiful hotel room I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, every detail felt luxurious and thoughtfully curated. Complimentary beverages and snacks were waiting for us in the room, which was such a wonderful touch. One of our favorite parts of the stay was breakfast delivery in the morning. Fresh fruit and delicious breakfast sandwiches were brought right to our door, all complimentary and we enjoyed everything out on the private terrace! It truly felt peaceful and special. The hotel’s daily Happy Hour from 5–6 PM was another highlight and such a great perk for guests. We also spent time at The Watch Rooftop restaurant, which offers stunning views, amazing cocktails, and incredible food. The atmosphere was perfect for an anniversary celebration. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Every single employee greeted us with a smile and genuinely went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The level of hospitality was exceptional. The Restoration Hotel is truly a gem- full of charm, beauty, and history. Our stay exceeded every expectation, and we are already looking forward to booking another visit soon.

We booked the One Bedroom Residence, which is 800 sq. ft. with a king bed for 3 nights at a cost of just over $2K. First, it's important to note that parking is valet-only and costs $35 per day. Additionally, the rooftop pool is not really a pool; it's an approximately 8' x 8' hot tub with a depth of 3 feet. The rooftop restaurant's food was delicious, but the coffee shop ran out of some breakfast items very quickly. The front desk staff was very friendly. Now, regarding our accommodations: the 2nd-floor view was wonderful. We had a room on the King Street side, allowing us to look out at the hustle and bustle of the city. The decor was satisfactory, and it was quiet at night. However, we were disappointed by a few things, including the lack of a ceiling fan in the bedroom. It tended to get a little warm while sleeping unless we set the thermostat to cool, which made the entire space feel cold due to the open ceiling. We were particularly disappointed with the bathroom. The grout in the shower area was heavily molded, as was the track at the bottom of the shower door. Plus, the bathroom lacked a working fan, so we had to open the door to air it out before using the mirror. The water pressure in the shower was very poor, and the sink had a slow-running drain. For those who need bright lighting for makeup application, the bathroom lights were dim, even with all of them turned on. We encountered a few other minor issues that required us to reach out to the front desk. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel if you are looking for an upscale boutique hotel experience. The value is not there.

First the good:spacious room with sitting area and kitchenette/bar top counter and stools, fridge. Comfortable bed and quiet room. Central location on historic King Street, good for walking to the market, shopping, restaurants. The misses: no gym on site, over a mile away there is a gym that is affiliated with this hotel. Breakfast in a basket outside the door is a cute idea in theory but two small light & fit yogurts in plastic containers and one bowl of berries, and a lukewarm microwave quiche were not very appealing. The next day, one banana for two people, and two English muffin cheese and egg sandwiches and a bowl of berries…I don’t eat muffins or cheese…..shouldn’t they at least ask for your preference? Coffee can be purchased in the coffee shop attached to the hotel. Thank Goodness! I’ve rarely stayed in a hotel these last years that doesn’t have its own freshly brewed complimentary coffee. The pool on the 5th floor is a joke. 8 chairs in the blazing sun, no shade, just enough room for the chairs around the 8x8 pool.
