I am only halfway through my stay at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes, and I already feel completely comfortable giving this resort an outstanding review. From my very first phone call until this very moment, I have encountered nothing but overachievers, people who genuinely want to make sure their guests are comfortable, happy, and cared for in every possible way. I especially want to recognize Danita, who was one of the most knowledgeable, patient, and service-oriented reservationists I have ever encountered. I had many questions before making my reservation. The Marriott was in the running with three other hotels, and Danita answered every single question with such knowledge, kindness, and confidence that by the end of our conversation, I did not want to stay anywhere else. She made me feel certain that I had chosen the right resort, and I am so glad I did. That exceptional service continued from the moment we arrived. The valet service was wonderful, and if you get a chance to hear Jeremy's story, you will be happy you took the time to talk with him. I am off to the Cayman Islands soon, thanks, Jeremy! Ron's welcome drink at the bar said H-E-L-L-O with a lovely touch. Thank you! Breakfast has been another highlight. Chef Omar prepares fresh omelets, fried eggs, waffles, and just about whatever your heart desires. His attention to detail is perfection. He even wipes down the plates to ensure they are pristine. Everything is prepared fresh and exactly as requested, and his service adds something special to the morning experience. Oh, and I might add that there is another side of the breakfast buffet that is delicious, well-maintained, and endless! A special shout-out to Linda, the mother of Richey, the charming server at Ocean's 82nd, for raising a son who brings joy to the hearts of many. He was an absolute delight! He can remember everything without writing it down. Visit and put him to the test, and you, too, will be amazed. If you are a mom or a grammi like me, ask Richey about the special trip he planned for his mom, Linda. You will leave happy and a little misty-eyed. I also have to recognize the housekeeping staff. Whether you choose to have your room serviced or simply need extra items brought to you, they are ready and willing to assist. When the room is cleaned, it looks every bit as pristine as it did when you first walked through the door. And speaking of walking through the door, take a moment to breathe in! The fragrance in the room is unlike anything I have experienced at another hotel. It is fresh, calming, and has that unmistakable resort feeling that immediately tells you, “You are on vacation.” Yes, I have ventured out and enjoyed other activities and dinig that Myrtle Beach has to offer, but I can honestly say that if you chose to spend your entire vacation right here at the resort, you would not feel as though you had missed out. There is something very special about being in a place where the staff consistently makes you feel as though you are being treated like royalty. And the best part? I still have a few days left! I am genuinely excited to continue enjoying everything this beautiful resort and its wonderful staff have to offer. Thank you to everyone who has already made this stay so memorable. You have set the bar very high, and you have certainly earned my appreciation. I am proud to become a member and look forward to stays at other Marriott's. However, I must confess, Danita, I will be coming back to the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes to say hello to you, and next time I hope to bring even more of my family!
