North Charleston Marriott

“Great stay”

This has been my go to spot when in the area of North Charleston. The facility is very clean. The staff is always friendly and engaging. Minutes to downtown and worth the drive to not have to pay downtown prices. Bar area is good.

Enjoyed our stay. A typical Marriott hotel, smelled awesome and our room was clean. Enjoyed our stay. A typical Marriott hotel, smelled awesome and our room was clean. I usually clean the tub and lysol the floors, room, tv remote, etc. I actually didn't see any residue from cleaning the tub which was a pleasant surprise. We didn't eat breakfast but was told $18 surcharge. Loved the ambience of the place, several places to sit and gather outside of the room. The firepit was lit in the courtyard. Parking is a $10 surcharge for self-parking for a uncovered lot. I dnt understand why hotels with their own parking lots are charging to park now. We had it waived another site shows the hotel has free parking...3miles from the airport but we didn't hear the rain or planes. Down the street from Tanger oulets/sams club/ walmart, Chipotle, chickfila, and Culver. Not a walkable property but a great choice among many

As frequent travelers to the Charleston area, we decided to try this Marriott property vs the usual property we stay at ( Element Charleston) as we wanted a more full service hotel. We are frequent travelers to Marriott Properties and have Titanium status. My biggest issue with this hotel is that a scent is pumped into the hotel and rooms. When we first checked in our room had a strong cleaning fluid type scent. We assumed it had just been cleaned but when we left and came back a few hours later it was just as strong. I called the front desk and was told that’s an engineering issue.. so if you are sensitive to scents this is probably not the place to stay! We appreciated the access to the M lounge which had a great assortment of food and snacks. Dominique in the lounge was friendly and helpful! We enjoyed the bar area Saturday evening and the staff there were great. Not sure we will stay here again. It’s a solid choice by the airport but find overall a more welcoming feel at the Element

“Great North Charleston Hotel”

On a personal trip to Charleston, the city was PACKED so we opted to stay in North Charleston. This is a great option if you don’t need to stay within the downtown area. It is 15-20 minutes from the downtown area as well as a short car ride to the beach. We stayed in one of the larger rooms, in a suite. The hotel and room were clean, comfortable, and provided a great place to rest our head. HSH Pro/Con Recommendation list below! Pros: - Could not hear airplanes even though an airport hotel - Spacious, comfortable room - Loved front desk team – they were so kind and friendly. Shoutout to our front desk friend from Morristown, NJ! - Very soft pillows - Free self parking! Cons: - Bathroom barn door very difficult to open and close. This was especially annoying in the middle of the night - Closet for clothes was literally in the bathroom. This feels gross to me and there was so much space in the room and living area for closets – not sure why/how was in the bathroom - Terrible smelling shower products - Iron in room was terrible (leaked water all over) Recommendations: - Toilet paper holder practically on the ground – needs to be moved to a normal level, or at least not inches from the floor - Recommend finding a better spot for closet As mentioned at the start of this review, the beach is a short car ride away. Highly recommend heading to the beach very early to avoid traffic. We went at 8AM and it was a quick ride. Sidenote – if you head to Folley Beach, you can have beach chairs and an umbrella set-up by Folley Beach Chair Company for super cheap. Highly recommend their service so you don’t have to lug these items to the beach. Overall, a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay at this Marriott again!
