We stayed a week at the Wyndham Lake Marion Resort at the end of April. The resort is small, just 5 buildings, and I believe they have 64 suites; a mix of 1, 2, or 3 bedroom units, some have been remodeled, and more are in the process of remodeling. There is a lovely in ground outdoor pool (not heated) a small exercise room with a few machines, bike, boat, and fishing equipment rentals are available to guests. The office also has a weekly list of assorted activities that guests are welcome to participate in, and you can book a couple boat tours of the lake if desired. All of the staff are helpful and kind. Ruth at the front desk is a treasure! She put us into a 3br/3bath second floor corner unit that was so spacious, meticulously clean, and absolutely gorgeous! All units have their own washer and dryer, which I loved not having to bring home a weeks' worth of laundry! We so enjoyed having our morning coffee out on the balcony, overlooking the water. Another plus, at the end of the dead end road that the resort is on, there is the old causeway turned into a walking/bicycle path, with the new causeway (I-95) running beside it about 20 yards away. We went for walks quite often. There's not much to do around Santee, so we ventures out to some of the surrounding towns, and Charleston is a little over an hours' drive right down route 26. As for eating out, there's Cracker Barrel (all day breakfast is nice for late risers) Tulios for pizza, Craigs Deli for yummy sandwiches, and Cork and Barrel for drinks and lovely meals. We also found Smoke Em barbeque in St. Matthews to be a real gem!

“Great place to stay”

We highly recommend staying at Club Wyndham on Lake Marion. Our unit was spacious and had everything we needed with a beautiful view. The staff at the front desk was phenomenal - super friendly and helpful!

“Excellent place if you want peace, water, and golf.”

We stayed here for a week in mid January 2026. The temps were a bit cooler than we would have liked, but there was enough for us to do in the area to keep us happy. What made us super happy was our balcony view - Building 5, floor 3, center unit. Oh my goodness was it amazing to wake up every day to the cove view and watch the egret, blue heron, and cormorant flight patterns. Then the eastern sunset colors! Wow! Our unit was a deluxe unit with two bedrooms, two full baths, laundry, full kitchen, and lots of space. Santee has several golf courses and lots of lake activities. We enjoyed a 3-hour cruise with the Santee Boat Rental where we were taken around Lake Marion to see wildlife and learn the history of the area. The only downside are the lack of non chain restaurants in the area. We ate at a few places multiple times instead of trying new things every day. Other than that, we will return when we want a peaceful stay with an amazing view. Staff were very nice and accomodating.

“Relaxing peaceful stay”

Peaceful relaxing stay. Mark, Ruth, and Stephanie made the weekend great. The cookout was delicious!
