“Good place to stay”

Everything was good or very good except for their soap and shampoo. Take your own. We have stayed there several times and before they had good products, so we didnt take our own. We will next time.

On previous visits I would have given a 10, but I was a bit disappointed this time around. The staff was still very good, although all new to me. Breakfast was still very good with a lot of selections from which to choose & the dining room was continually maintained for cleanliness. The room, on the other hand, had significantly deteriorated in comfort & cleanliness since my last visit in January. The horrible smell coming from the ac unit made me nauseous & caused a few migraines. The smell of musty dust on the floor or behind the beds, not sure which, made it difficult to sleep. From the bathroom side bed to the bathroom smelled like sewage backup. So you couldn’t rest on the window side bed for the smell of the ac and the bathroom side bed for the smell of the bathroom. There was also mildew on the shower wall behind the glass door & hair that was not mine in the shower. The TV, while having a lot of channels, is virtually impossible to use efficiently unless you wanted to spend hours programming it. You couldn’t just press the # of a known station as the remote had no numbers on it. The carpets had debris all over. I believe a new vacuum is needed, which could have attributed to the dusty smell. The fitness center still looked new, but the trash was overflowing, the wipes in the black canister were dried up, no basket to discard towels & the tv didn’t work. Room Refrigerator had tiny cockroaches in it upon first open. Noticed more crawling on the outside of the fridge & in the bathroom. There was more, but I don’t remember everything by now. After 2 12hr drives in 4 days. I did report issues as I thought of them to Brenda, Richard & Denise. Denise offered to move my room next door, but as soon as I opened the door, it smelled just as bad and was an adjoining, so I closed the door & told her I’d just stay where I was as I was exhausted & had unpacked a few things. Brenda suggested the smells were due to pets on property, but these were not pet smells. All staff were kind, but Denise was a standout. Her calm and pleasant demeanor & hospitality skills are top notch.
