We were driving from NY to TN to look at homes. Our car broke down earlier in the day in Maryland. After this 5 hour ordeal we had dinner in VA and had no idea we would not be able to get any hotel room in VA due to VA Tech college football game . Then we found out Bristol VA had nascar. We called and stopped all over. We were exhausted and wanted to sleep. At about 1:30 am we called the Fairfield INN in Kodak we got Sarah from the front desk on the phone. She had three rooms and agreed to hold one for us with just my name. We didn’t arrive until 3 am. She was sweet and we held a great conversation at that hour. We are bonvoy members and not sure if we were entitled or not but she gave us a little bag of water , popcorn and a cute mini moon pie. Our room was beautiful and clean. We only ever try to stay in marriot hotels! If we come back in this direction we will surely stay here. We also ate the free breakfast. Buccee’s is directly across so the gas is a huge plus!! “Great place to stay and rest before heading off into the mountains to the east.”

The staff was great as always. The room was clean and well maintained. And the location and parting are great. The breakfast was mediocre. Had breakfast been a little better I would have bumped the stay up to excellent. We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 10 years and the price has almost tripled while the breakfast has declined a bit. Other name brand hotels in the area seem a little more competitive in prices but we have had good experiences here, so we haven't tried any place different.

“Can't beat a Fairfield Inn and Suites”

Stopped here for a night so that I could check out Buc-ee's in the morning. Usually on my way to Gatlinburg, I hit a Fairfield along the way, in Tennessee. Check-in was easy and my request was acknowledged at check-in and granted. Pillows were fluffy and the room was clean. Breakfast was fresh, attendant kept hot foods replenished and counters clean.

Overall, a great experience very friendly staff great location. The only thing I would upgrade would be the mattress. Very thin foam mattresses. I’m sure these are great for kids, but for adult adults when you sit on them, they shrink to about 4 inches thick not very comfortable. I was actually very surprised seeing the rest of this hotel how nice it is and how much money they have put into it only to find out the beds are worse than a super eight for a motel six. They have nice new outdoor sitting areas however they eliminated the hot tub for one of the areas which for me personally, I would rather have the hot tub. If spending all this money, I would think you’d want to set up a little bit better system for your gas supply for your fire pits instead of using barbecue tanks. You could’ve ran solid lines underground would’ve been a whole lot cheaper and more efficient in the long run the flame barely comes up though you’re talking less than an inch if you’re lucky kind of pointless As most hotels these days, they have indoor pools with ice water in them. Definitely wouldn’t hurt to heat the water. If you can get pass the cheap bed and the ice water pool it’s really not a bad hotel. I would consider staying here again. Just north of the interstate north of the crowded areas. Right across from a nice steakhouse and Bass pro shop within walking distance, practically part of the same parking lot. A lot of little stores right next-door within walking distance as well. If you’re a fan of the Buucees gas stations it’s just a short drive to the other side of the interstate about a mile at most to visit.
