Stayed at AC Hotel Austin-University Area on a recent business trip and it fit the purpose well. I had a high-floor room that felt quiet, private, and comfortable for one person. The style is modern and minimal, similar to an Aloft hotel. Clean layout, efficient use of space, and easy to settle into if you need to get work done. This is not really a vacation-style property. It feels more geared toward business travelers or short stays where you want a calm environment to focus. I was able to work from the room comfortably without distractions. The staff was consistently kind, professional, and helpful, which always elevates a stay. Location is another plus. It is close to UT Austin and within walking distance or a short ride to many restaurants, making meals very convenient. Overall, a solid choice for solo business travel if you value simplicity, functionality, and a good location.

Some of the friendliest most accommodating staff at both the AC and the adjoining Otis hotel. Any issue was taken care of, any reasonable request was granted. Prete was super friendly and helpful as were all the desk folks. Rooms were clean. View was terrible - back of a building and dumpsters. … more

Some of the friendliest most accommodating staff at both the AC and the adjoining Otis hotel. Any issue was taken care of, any reasonable request was granted. Prete was super friendly and helpful as were all the desk folks. Rooms were clean. View was terrible - back of a building and dumpsters. Gym was meh. Acre 41 restaurant and bar was good. Bartenders made high level drinks. Great bourbon selection. Staff including the valets were always offering cold water. We stayed for college move in and the staff made a high stress situation so much better. Good location - near UT campus too. Five stars for the consistent effort.

I spent two nights at this property in May, 2025, while attending a board meeting in Austin. I normally stay in grander/more expensive hotels, but this was a group booking for us all, and, in fact, I was delighted by the hotel. It feels very new, and the rooms are in good condition, and very well designed for what they are. There is a 'simple' breakfast offering and bar, but there is also the grander bar/restaurant of the Otis Hotel, which is the 'other half' of the AC, and one can eat and drink there, charging to one's room in the AC. That's a great advantage. But the best thing about the AC was the quality of its staff. I had an issue with some laundry not being delivered back on the same day, which had some potentially challenging implications. The front desk staff were universally kind and supportive, and ran the extra mile to try and resolve this before I checked out for a morning flight (and they managed to do so!), which I really appreciated. (And just to be clear - the fault was entirely that of the external laundry.) So I recommend this place strongly, if it is the style and price point of hotels you consider/like.
