ylord This is a massive conference hotel with over 1,800 rooms. It is widely spread out, with a huge central atrium area, so large that various sections of the hotel have their own names and separate lifts. My room (5010) was good, with a comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and an efficient shower. A few more electrical plugs would not have gone amiss, but the room was what you might expect from a hotel now owned by Marriott. The WiFi was quite slow; I measured it at just 5Mbps across multiple days. The staff that I encountered were capable, dealing with the huge throng of people with well practiced ease. The hotel is quite near (maybe a 15 minute drive from) the vast Dallas Fort Worth airport, which covers an area the size of Manhattan. Grapevine itself is a town of 50,000 people, with a somewhat twee “historic” Main Street populated with coffee shops, restaurants, clothes shops and the odd art gallery. However it was eerily quiet when I visited it, and is not somewhere to invest much time in. However, guests at this hotel are most likely here for a conference or business meeting, so that hardly matters. The scale of the place means that you will get plenty of exercise, even if you don’t use the well equipped gym. Overall, it is a well run large hotel.

“It’s a big place, so bring your walking shoes!”

I did not stay at the hotel, however, wanted to offer comments on the great service that our group received during our annual meeting and at our team dinner. The staff was attentive to all of our requests, and it is obvious that they are well-versed in dealing with large groups.

“Billing a nightmare”

I was there for the conference and will stay at Great Wolf Lodge next time. The rooms were just ok, but my main issue was they charged me valet and self parking on the same day, everyday of my stay. Definitely check the statement before checking out.

This is a nice property, but it was an odd experience to stay there. There is a glass dome over all the exterior spaces, so while it is made to look natural, there are no birds, no reptiles, not even insects, and it is eerie to sit in a "plaza" and not see them. This is a nice property, but it was an odd experience to stay there. There is a glass dome over all the exterior spaces, so while it is made to look natural, there are no birds, no reptiles, not even insects, and it is eerie to sit in a "plaza" and not see them. Then there was the weird refusal of any staff member to break a $20 bill. I was unable to leave any cash tips for luggage or cleaning staff because no one at any desk, in any store or restaurant, would break a bill to provide me with tip-size bills. The property is pretty, but it was not a hospitable stay.

“Cautious with conference schedule”

Not far from DFW airport, was in town for work. Upon checking in to the hotel, I realized an anime conference was taking place at the same time. Loud at night is understatement. Not far from DFW airport, was in town for work. Upon checking in to the hotel, I realized an anime conference was taking place at the same time. Loud at night is understatement. Not typical marriott hotel, as this is a resort with fees and such. Several restaurants on site and the spa will validate your parking if u just want to attend spa.atrium. Couple of model small model train layouts throughout center attrium.
